Hi Folks! Long time no activity so I thought I'd prime the pump. The Fluke 9010A is one of our most useful pieces of test equipment in our (and many other folk's) shop but I KNOW that it would be much more useful if the !@#$!% "Checksum Test" actually corresponded to the checksums that most of us are familiar with. We need some Z80 guru to dig into the code and rewrite that section and possible hardware mods might also be required. I really hate writing down every new checksum the stupid Fluke creates for future reference... Anyone game? John :-#)# --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. I have a collection of 3 spare 9010A manuals: Programming, Operating and Service, that I would love to trade for similar ones for the 9000 fixture. I know that they are up on spies, but it is a bit much to print those out...(350+ pages!) Fluke stuff for sale?

Anyone have any Fluke stuff for sale? I want to purchase a unit for myself. I've got a dead Fluke 90 Z80 unit to trade (I assume if you had a 8080 Fluke 90 you could swap the interface & make it a Z80 unit unless that is what is dead with my unit). I'd be interested in price quotes for a complete setup with Z80 pod Also be interested in 6502 pod 6809 pod and what is a Fluke 9020A? How does it relate to the 9010 & 9100? power supply splitter

Guys: I was just given an interesting bench power supply splitter schematic. This will provide a positive a negative supply from a positive supply input. For example, the output of a +40V input is +20V and -20V. Good for bench powering my Atari boards :) However, the circuit is limited to about 100mA (roughly) - not enough to power my PCBs. SRAM testers

Guys: In an attempt to build up my arsenal of test equipment, I just picked up an HP 10529A Logic Comparator to test some TTL chips. However, I was wondering what the easiest (or best) way to check SRAM chips? Something like 24-pin AM9128s... TIA, tom

Fluke on Universal Boards (Cosmic Alien etc.)

I wonder if anyone can throw any light on a strange problem I'm having when I connect the Fluke 9010a up to a Universal Cosmic Alien board :- I connected up a 'known to be good' cosmic alien board in order to learn the rom locations, sig's, ram locations,etc. the board has a Z80 processor and uses for main mem 8 x 4116's Drams. The value of the XTAL is 10.816Mhz. When I switched on after connecting up i received an error message POD TIMEOUT ATTEMPTING RESET. this error is usually a sign of bad or missing clock although it can be other faults. After much faffing about and getting no-where i decided to change the Xtal for an eight mhz one and although I cannot run the game with this in it did allow me to me to get the information and by doing the same to a non working board allowed me to troubleshoot and repair it. What is going on?? is there anything I can do that would enable me to run the UUT with the slower xtal as it make it difficult to know if it is working properly without keep changing th xtals back and forth. Any help would be greatly appreciated on two counts one:- to improve my knowledge base 2. I now have a Magical spot doing the same but changing the atal this time does not work the boards are very similar BUT.......?? Anyway, I've had that model for around 10 years and would recommend it. Great for when you're too lazy to drag out the scope. If it's the model I listed above, I'd say it's a no-brainer. Well worth the $12. Let us know; I could use a new one (cracked the red part on mine).
