Fluke 9110FT SPECTRUM-TX diskettes imaged

Hi all! I bought a Fluke 9110FT setup and with that setup came the SPECTRUM-TX diskettes which I now have imaged and uploaded to the "/TTL/Test_Equipment/Fluke/9100 Series" folder on John's FTP site. Inside the ZIP archive is a ReadMe with more details about the images etc. I haven't tested the images myself but I think they should probably work as the original diskettes was error free. I chatted with the seller and he confirms that it does NOT power up. So chances are the battery backed up system ROM has failed. Item 390623172259 He reduced the price on his own from the original asking $59.95 to $19.95. Pity. I was hoping to find a good one to extract the program from to save mine... If someone here buys it and CAN extract the ROM data I'd sure like a copy! Fluke FIDE 4.1.9 Run-time error'68'

I've been using the 9010A only with the keyboard, however I am now finding that I have to run some scripts for servicing some old game boards - Pole Position 2 by Namco. By and large I can type the stuff in, but I wanted to use FIDE to both edit the code and upload it to my unit either via the USB mod or the Wi-Fi mod (back in 2015/2016 we talked about these). Is anyone else using Quarterarcade's FIDE? I have a regular occurrence of the run-time error 68. It is Windows based: 68 Device unavailable A hardware device or necessary requirement for the program is not being found. Verify all hardware and software required by the program is installed. If you continue to have the same issues verify the latest updates are installed for the program as well as any hardware device the program needs. Anyone else found a solution or a cause for this? James did leave the source code for FIDE: https://app.assembla.com/spaces/FIDE/subversion/source/HEAD I don't know if James is still hanging out here at TTL, but I certainly appreciate his FIDE program! Perhaps FIDE just isn't happy running over a network...or does it needs longer timeouts? For the Fluke Z8000 Pod - making interface PCB for Z8002 CPU

I have a Z8000 pod and am in the process of making a PCB for the Z8001 test socket on it so I can test Z8002 (Pole Position of course) logic. The PCB is to adapt the Z8002 CPU to the Z8001 test socket. I will likely be making two or three of these (minimum quantity) so if anyone is interested in one for their Z8000 pod please let me know - @ cost plus postage. I plan on having the PCBs run off either later this week or next. Programming the 9100 without video or keyboard

Okay, been hard at work on a few things, time to share another bit. Following up on the post about writing disks, here’s how you put something interesting on them to write. Instructions are "works for me on Linux" level. 1. Get a copy of ToolShed[1]. This is an open-source project for dealing with OS-9 disks. Build it and put it somewhere you can call it. 2. Make an empty disk image. High density: os9 format -q -e -k -bs256 -9 -st32 -dd -t80 -ds disk.img Double density: os9 format -q -e -k -bs256 -9 -st16 -dd -t80 -ds disk.img 3. Make the userdisk structure in your disk image: touch MEVALID os9 makdir 'disk.img,/SYSDISK' os9 makdir 'disk.img,/PARTLIB$PARTLIB' os9 makdir 'disk.img,/PODLIB$PODLIB' os9 makdir 'disk.img,/HELPLIB$HELPLIB' os9 makdir 'disk.img,/PROGLIB$PROGLIB' os9 copy MEVALID disk.img,/ 3. Convert your TL/1 code. This doesn’t compile it, but is equivalent to the editor COPY from TEXT to PROGRAM type. I wrote a Python program to do this: pcv.py infile.tl1 prog_outfile Since it’s called from the shell, you can convert as many as you want in one go, instead of plonking away at the 9100 keyboard for each file. 5. Copy the program into the disk image: os9 copy prog_outfile 'disk.img,/PROGLIB$PROGLIB/PROGRAM$OUTFILE' This just puts it into the PROGLIB, but you can put it in a UUT as well: os9 makdir 'disk.img,/UUT$WHATEVER' os9 copy prog_outfile 'disk.img,/UUT$WHATEVER/PROGRAM$OUTFILE' 6. Write the image to a disk and load it onto your 9100. I put up some helpful TL/1 code at https://github.com/ieure/fluke-9100-lib which you can - getromcrc. Works exactly like getromsig, but returns a CRC-32. This is debugged and produces the exact CRC listed in the MAME source code, so nearly any ROM signature you could ever want is readily available. - testromcrc. Works exactly like testromfull, but takes a CRC-32 instead of Fluke’s signature. It also works from the front panel, so you don’t need video or keyboard to use it. - u_testroms. Reads a text file of ROM addresses, refs, and CRCs, and tests them all. I prefer this to duplicating a bunch of testromcrc calls. - u_testrams. Same deal as u_testroms, but for RAM. This isn’t a full replacement for the video and keyboard, but you can get plenty more out of a 9100 this way no matter what the configuration. The main issue is that it’s fairly difficult to get TL/1 code right without using the debugger. Handling 9100 floppies on Linux

I had a need to be able to write 9100 floppy disks on a Linux box, and was able to get it working this weekend. This is a pretty decent way to move things from a modern machine to the 9100 if you don’t want to get a Gotek.
