Still looking for this one - what is the algorithm used to generate the ROM Signature in the 9100/9010s? Have tried almost all the CRC programs I could download, none were correct. It's not CRC-16, CRC-32, CCITT, CHECKSUM.... Anyone get any further? Attached is the file that I used to try and identify the signature and these are the results: CRC-16 =58B8 CRC-32 =C1E6AB10 CCITT =E63C (the "Correct" Fluke signature is = 8B1A) The file is from a video game, it's a 4K size chunk of the main program... Fading 9100 displays?

I am getting a price for replacement graphic display tubes (256 X 26) for the 9100's. 5 lot pricing. Should know next week. Let me know if you need one, so we can figure out how many to order. Estimate the price should be under $200US based on replacement cost for tubes for pinball games (around $100US each). John :-#)#

Hi Folks, Just wondering if anuone has any spare(blank?) reference cards that they are willing to part with, My comparator just arrived with the selftest card but no reference cards. The one that has a ZIF and take any reference IC would be great but std cards would be just as welcome. Thanks Chris

opening a fluke 9100 ?

hi all.. I have rebuilt my jamma test rig externsively today to incorporate it inside my vector rig.. i'm getting there... anyway.. my 9100 sits on top of it, and seing as i had the whole lot to pieces today i thought i might as well dust out the 9100, clean the filters or whatever... Now, i really don't want to break it as its vital to my work, however i couldn't for thel ife of me figure out how to get the damn case off... i don't have the manuals to hand, they are in storage.. but i can't see how it comes apart.. can anyone help? :) andy

Success with EEPROM/Floppies

I have been successful in copying the EEPROM files from a machine that I had the System discs for onto my old 9100 that did not have the system any more. The System disks now will boot the old 9100 and I assume in half an hour I'll be able to copy them onto the base and then be able to again boot the old 9100 from the hard drive. Next to see if the programmers files are still there, then to see if there is any way to extract files through the RS-232 port... I shall put a file on the archive server with the EEPROM and the corresponding System discs. Fantastic news. People will probably run into the need for the faster version and this will definitely help (well not the market for the AA pods now!). (Bally MCRs is one that requires the faster pod). While on the subject of faster Z80 pods, does anyone know how to set the Quick Test feature programatically via TL/1 on the 9100s? I can do it manually but it seems to reset when you run a program/script? If we can offload the TL/1 Compiler to another computer would that help? I think you would still want the Monitor / Programmer option for collecting response data (I don't know of a way around that). Worth asking, is it possible to use the 232 port as a monitor port with like the 1020 touchscreen, as a primary monitor? I believe source is there too. Uses a AT keyboard. Also links to a 68HC11 version. http://www.electronic-engineering.ch/microchip/projects/projects.html DIY Pic Microcontroller version. I don't think he supported all the Function keys but I imagine he would be helpful if asked. Unfortunately I haven't had time to play with any of these but I think the 2 DIY projects are the solution we are looking for & relatively cheap. As for the Reset issue, I don't know. FS: Last NOS 9100A

Well, I've decided that the shop needs money more than I need another toy, so I am going to sell my last NOS 9100 system. It's hard drive crashed on the third power-up and I've ordered a replacement (9100) 20Meg SCSI from NAVATEK.com, this will be formatted and have the original software installed and thus ready to go. Included with the 9100 is a (sealed) 9132, a bunch of 680XX and 80286, 80386 adapters for the 9132 (all sealed), and a bunch of pods. plus two each of 32, 28, and 24 pin adapters. Ram upgrades for the 9132... 9100 probe, Signature Clock module, Service , operators, etc manuals and factory operators software disc set. Complete set of manuals: pods, 9132, etc. The base has been run on my bench for just a few hours, still has the original factory warranty decals and seals. This was one of the units whose floppies I archived for working on the serial number issue. Nice bright display! So if anyone is interested they can make an offer and I can send pictures to them of the nice aluminized sealed baggies - airtight, they hiss when opened! For the record I sold one of these on $2,000US, the second one sold on eBay for $2,500US. This is the very last NOS one...really...I have no more NOS units. I am keeping my old 9100 (noisy hard drive) as it is complete. John :-#)#
