Construct: RS-232 adapter for 9010A's?

Would very many people be interested in these if they were made? I am thinking of just a PCB and folks then populate their own..or if someone here has time and wants the job, go for it! If I could get bare PCBs for around $20-$25US I would buy four or five - and one could use the latest RS-232 interface ICs for isolation instead of the old design. Maybe clock the thing up to 115,000 baud? Nice speed for DUMPER, eh? Removal of bounced folks...

Just a note to members that I do remove bounced emails after about five days...current person being shorn off (sorry) is: invadar(a)freenetname.co.uk (generated from invadar(a)mean-machine.org.uk) mailbox is full (MTA-imposed quota exceeded while writing to file tmp/1049226732.96742.mx2.global.net.uk): retry timeout exceeded After a week of getting these notes after every time someone posts on TTL. Bus failures

So... Keeping in mind that I'd had my 9010 for all of two weeks... I have started to develop a decent sys80 program, and that is the board set that I am focusing on for the moment. One particular board that I had was showing a bus failure. Sometimes I would get bit 1 stuck, sometimes bit 7. At first I could not figure out what was going on, so I set it down for a few days. I went back to this board tonight and for the heck of it, re-tested it with the ROMs removed. Luckily, that was the problem. However, there were some TTL chips that could have also been the problem. In general, when you get a bus failure, what's your approach? How to you try to narrow it down? I was trying to use my DMM to find a short on some of the FF that are on this board. Any other tricks? I was tinkering around with a sick Bally MPU board today (a rewired -17 monster for Grand Products 301), and was trying to figure out why the 6810 was not being selected...So I set the probe to DATA, and set a WRITE @ 0000 = 55, and then tried checking with the probe for results. Curiously enough, the probe showed nothing at all for A7 - Tri-state as far as it was concerned. I though maybe the 6800 pod was defective and pulled out another one, same result. A regular logic probe shows everything active. Now, I haven't experimented much with the probe sync, and this might be a flaw - or am I missing something obvious. I did only get four hours sleep last night due to some idiot breaking my shop window at 1AM and had to hang around till 4 for the glass folks...so - let's say I'm not at my sharpest today. I was never able to find one of these 8080 based test computers, but did win on Ebay a suitcase 8080 test computer made by INTEGRATED COMPUTER SYSTEMS. It looks like it is a 'clone' of the NEC as it has almost exactly the same parts, same memory size, same RAM size, same keyboard, displays, tape in/out, etc. It came with a learning audio tape (no idea what it is yet) but no manuals. It does interface to a S100 buss and it also has a built-in extra board for experiments, including a cute motor with a chopper disc (infra-red). So I am eventually going to finish testing it (mine had a cracked -5 regulator solder pin - easily fixed) and then see if it helps my apprentices learn how to use the 9010A WITHOUT my having to help them. The process in the Fluke 9000 Series Micro-System Troubleshooter Introductory Training manual is self directed after all... So keep an eye out for these suitcases - they might be handy for your shop! Fluke 9010A z80 pod problem

I am having a problem with a Z80B processor using my 9010A Can any one help with answers to the following Questions? I understand that the 'B' indicats a faster speed for the processor Can I use a Standard Z8o pod to trouble shoot this board (I have tried and am getting some wierd results and i can't tell if its a result of using the standard pod). If I can't use the pod is there any way I can convert my spare pod to Use it for 'A' & 'B' type Processors? Any help would be very gratefuly accepted. I am also looking for a 6800 pod any one got one to trade or sell. Also A probe for 9010a working or not.
