pin sizes for extractor and crimpers? recommendations?

Yes, I cross posted this to RGVAC, but it fits here too. Any help/advice appreciated. What are the sizes of the pins used in typical Williams, Gottlieb, etc. games? .156, .093, .062, .165, other? What pin extractor tools and crimpers do you use that you like/dislike? Is the "spring loaded" extractor worth the few extra bucks? I've found a lot of places to buy them on the net, but if anyone knows any place that has some great prices on them, please let me know. Seems like spring loaded extractor tools are about $12, and crimpers $20-30. Thanks, Joe joemagiera(a)ameritech.net

Okay so the normal crew spotted the 9100 on e-bay. I'm interested in the VECTOR module. I belive the manual is already available is anyone else interested in this part? Does anyone want to persuade me not to ebay a fully working (yes, not untested!) fluke 6809/E pod with a sensible offer? It's in good condition, all the pins on the header are present and straight (pics available on request). As you're probably all aware, it's ideal for fixing Williams Joust/Defender/Robotron, Atari Star Wars etc and is pretty much the hardest to find and most expensive pod BUT it pays for itself very quickly. I just heard back from my contact (John Konishi) and there are 26 tubes left for the 9100, net cost (FOB Toronto, Canada) is $185 Canadian (approximately $115US) plus shipping and any duties (if applicable to the USA). Fluke Signatures....

Still looking for this one - what is the algorithm used to generate the ROM Signature in the 9100/9010s? Have tried almost all the CRC programs I could download, none were correct. It's not CRC-16, CRC-32, CCITT, CHECKSUM.... Anyone get any further? Attached is the file that I used to try and identify the signature and these are the results: CRC-16 =58B8 CRC-32 =C1E6AB10 CCITT =E63C (the "Correct" Fluke signature is = 8B1A) The file is from a video game, it's a 4K size chunk of the main program... Fading 9100 displays?

I am getting a price for replacement graphic display tubes (256 X 26) for the 9100's. 5 lot pricing. Should know next week. Let me know if you need one, so we can figure out how many to order. Estimate the price should be under $200US based on replacement cost for tubes for pinball games (around $100US each). John :-#)#

opening a fluke 9100 ?

hi all.. I have rebuilt my jamma test rig externsively today to incorporate it inside my vector rig.. i'm getting there... anyway.. my 9100 sits on top of it, and seing as i had the whole lot to pieces today i thought i might as well dust out the 9100, clean the filters or whatever... Now, i really don't want to break it as its vital to my work, however i couldn't for thel ife of me figure out how to get the damn case off... i don't have the manuals to hand, they are in storage.. but i can't see how it comes apart.. can anyone help? :) andy

Success with EEPROM/Floppies

I have been successful in copying the EEPROM files from a machine that I had the System discs for onto my old 9100 that did not have the system any more. The System disks now will boot the old 9100 and I assume in half an hour I'll be able to copy them onto the base and then be able to again boot the old 9100 from the hard drive. Next to see if the programmers files are still there, then to see if there is any way to extract files through the RS-232 port... I shall put a file on the archive server with the EEPROM and the corresponding System discs.
