Anyone have any Tek 85xx development docs? I'm hoping to get some big 8" floppies created on on of their development stations read. FWIW, the discs in question are double-sided. Should be interesting if the data can be read... Thanks, tom

As I was searching for something else I started talking to a guy at TruCal about the 9100 and 9010 pieces of equipment. He mentioned that he still has several pods and other pieces sitting on the shelf that he'd be willing to sell pretty cheap. (cheap is of course relative but he seemed reasonable..) Anyway, I'm not interested in these but I told him I'd pass on the information to some other interested people. Fluke 9100 and 9010 parts TruCal ( they buy/sell/calibrate test equipment - www.trucal.com ) Bryan Lottich 1-800-681-5540 He seems like a nice guy. Ah yes but what are you using for a seed file for the CRC 16 /32 calculators? I belive the Fluke version is possibly based on some of the original articles that were in BYTE circa 1983. Fluke 90 Series designer found!

I was chatting with Shy (www.Navatek.com - spare 9100/9010 parts) and I asked him about the Series 90 that Fluke/PHILIPS produced in the early 90's and he said it was the design of a guy named Mike in Calgary, Canada! This is a device that can clip onto a Z80 or 8085 CPU (some of the 6XXX family is supported too it seems) and it will cycle steal from the UUT and allow you to run RAM, ROM etc tests. Nice hand held unit... So if anyone has one of those items sitting on a shelf I am going to try and get the schematics, etc for them. Mike's away for a few days but stay tuned! John :-#)#

As an interesting side note, I've had problems locating an affordable punch down tool for williams boards. While I use the crimp connectors sometimes, I also use the punch down type, depending on my local stores stock. Given that I have now rewired 3 or 4 williams cabs, some from scratch, I needed to find an easy way to punch down into the connectors. What I did, is I took that stubby flat head driver that comes in most scredriver sets, and ground the tip so it was thinner, and narrower. I then used the dremmmel tool to cut some slots in the tip, and presto, a cheap punch down tool!
