Fluke 9100FT internal error

I picked up a parts-unit Fluke 9100FT recently. Slowly working on getting it running. At boot (both from the existing HD image and also from known good system floppies) I get the following error on the screen: INTERNAL ERROR 3997: TQset_delay() - 4 I can't find anything relevant in the service manual, or searching in the TTL mail archives. Anyone seen similar? Finally - a use for the TMS9900 pod!

It turns out that Universal used the TMS9981 CPU in Cosmic Guerilla - someone sent the board to me to service. I haven't checked if there are any other Universal games that ran that CPU. Interesting that TI reversed the order of the addresses and Data lines from what is now the convention. Their D0 is most folks D7! Our A0 is TI's A13 on the 9980/81... Need to see if I can make a simple adapter 9900 <--> 9981, unless someone made one and is willing to sell me a copy... Thanks! Anyone else make Mike Coates 2650 - Z80 adapter?

I've had this adapter sitting on a shelf since 2004 and just found a use for it when working on a Zaccaria pinball MPU. The problem is it doesn't work and it looks like the 2650 CPU has to drive INTACK, but it ties low in the original article on pages 9 &10 of TroubleshooterV1-1983-combined-searchable.pdf (on ftp list under Fluke/9XXX/Fluke Troubleshooter Magazine). Anyone else use this adapter or made one that works for Zac. games? Fluke 9010A Troubleshooters and probe for sale

Hi All, I am in the process of reclaiming some space in my workshop so that I can actually get workshop things done :) I have decided that I don’t need three Fluke 9010A Troubleshooters! So letting, a couple go. Troubleshooter #1: - 9010A, no clock module board - Great cosmetic conditions, no obvious discoloration, no case damage (a couple of minor marks/imperfections, but nothing major) - Passes all tests, tape drive not tested - Pictures: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19oqD00pfK1uQrGT04lT2poaPRphfo5Dz?us… Asking $800 + shipping Troubeshooter #2: - 9010A, with clock module board - Great cosmetic conditions, no obvious discoloration, no case damage (a couple of minor marks/imperfections, but nothing major) - Passes all tests, tape drive not tested - One known issue. When turned on, it will sometimes emit the normal tone, but it does not turn off. Turning it off and back on fixes is (sometimes, you have to do that a couple of times). Not sure if it’s the buzzer or the driver. 9010A Z80 pod and the !IORQ line

Z80 pod and the !IORQ line. Working on a GamePlan MPU-2 board. Address space looks like: 0x0000-0x1000 ROM 0x0004 8255 Port A 0x0005 8255 Port B 0x0006 8255 Port C 0x0007 8255 Control 0x0008 Z80 CTC Ch1 0x0009 Z80 CTC Ch2 0x000A Z80 CTC Ch3 0x000B Z80 CTC Ch4 Looking over the schematic I can see that the chip select lines for the 8255 and CTC are tied the Z80 !IORQ pin (20). Makes sense, only interface with the two peripherals when you need too so you can overlap the address space. But from the 9010A how do I control that I am reading / writing to those devices? Designing a 9010 replacement LED display?

I was looking at my 9005 and grumbling because the tube is missing, then I pulled out the 9010a service manual and you know, it looks like it would be a pretty easy fix to replace the tube with 32 digit alpha-numeric LEDs of the correct size on a small PCB and all that would be needed is to replace the UDN6118 fluorescent drivers with suitable LED drivers and find a place to grab 5V and ground and then mount the new display to the board... Maybe it would work? Anyone interested in poking at the KiCAD layout? I have no free time, but I know there are folks out there looking for a solution to bad or weak tubes... There simply can't be enough current for a 5W resistor as this is ground biasing the base of a small signal transistor. Then there is the question of Q604/Q704 (MPSU07) transistors upgraded to TO-202 (NTE-49) which looks like another problem as there is no NTE-49 and hasn't been for decades. That was the same as the ECG-49, which was a NPN-Si, 125Vcbo, 2A, Gen Purpose TO-202. Anyone have a workable replacement to save me the lookup time? I'm thinking a Rv1.2 is overdue...
