I've been building a collection of RAM testers for a few years...Ebay...I even found an old BugTrap RAM Test device that checks a lot of the 4116's and most Dynamic RAM, but nothing so far that checks 2101's or 5101's... SimCheck's old RAM tester doesn't cover those unfortunately, one needs to find really ancient equipment sometimes... Tinkering around with my 9100 I was testing out the BACKUP-3.TD0 disc (now in the FLUKE/9100_Fixture directory) and it allows you to back the entire hard drive to Floppy discs and it seems to tell you how many you will need...or if you can find a SCSI Tape Drive and hook it up to the rear... I wonder if the old BackPack Tape Drive would work. I seem to recall that it is actually SCSI with a SCSI to Parallel interface built in...need to take one apart now. Have one in deep storage at the shop - but it will hold something like 80MB... Anyone have one of these or info on same? Mine is not working correctly (heck I don't know how to use it anyway), and a manual of some sort would be nice. I did ask the designer if he had anything left on it, but it appears that stuff is long gone... John :-#(#

Fluke Z80 & Z80/AA Pods

Hello All, Can someone confirm that differences between these two pods for me? Is the AA version simply a faster version of the original? I have one of each, and I'm about to sell the standard one to a friend. However, I don't want to part with the standard one if there is some aspect of it's performance that the Z80/AA isn't able to perform. The trick I know about only works with non-registered pals. You would read the whole truth table from it and then there were some programs out there that would reduce the truth table back to a set of equations. Now with registered pals you can't do that as easily since there is an "internal state" that you have to take into account -- not just a set of inputs and outputs. Now of course there might also be some people out there that have figured out how to work around the security fuse when you apply just the right over/under voltage, etc.. (always popular in the smartcard cracking community).
