Problem with Promlink 6.10 (revised)

I am still getting an "Error 11 occurred in module MAIN at address XXXX:YY" I am wondering if that is a result of my using the program on a computer that does not have Com 2 free? This was last discussed in 2000 - has anyone come up with a solution in the meantime? Is there any way to set the default to Com1? It won't even open you see.... Mame is not bad but not always correct. Ultimately you will want to learn binary math & how addressing is done so you can look at a schematic & determine the locations of various hardware yourself. Kev I am having a hard time understanding how memory locations and how registers work,, is their a book or courses that anyone can suggest , no one teaches this any more, I took a digital course at the local collage ,they just touched on this part not enough to really understand and they did not go over memory I want to be able to use my fluke 9010 to trouble shoot these arcade boards,, but when it gives loop info how to trace this back to a chip ,, any help would be great , how did all of you learn this ?????

In the simplest form, a register has 2 inputs (data and clock) and one output (output data). When the clock rises (goes from a logical '0' to a logical '1') whatever value exists on the data input will be stored in the register and driven out of the outout data pin. The value on the input data pin can now do whatever it wants (go high, low, whatever) but the value on the output data pin will not change until he next rising clock edge. Memory Addressing: Memory addresing works the same way regular addressing does. In other words, when you want to send a letter to 7 Cypres Drive, Whosville AL, it gets sent there. If the CPU wants to send a byte of data to a certain location in memory, it needs to specify not just the data, but where to stick the data. Lets say a small piece of memory has 16 locations in it and each one of these location can hold a byte(8 bits) worth of data, the address location would be 0,1,2 ...... 9,A,B,C,D,E,F. And if the CPU wanted to write a byte of data to location 8 in memory, it puts the data on the data bus, the address (8) on the address bus and in the next clock cycle (typicaly) the data is written to memory. Conversely, if the CPU wants to read a byte from memory, it puts the address (8) on the address bus, drives a signal accordingly to tell the memory this is a read operation, and in the same clock cycle (typically) the memory puts the data it has in the location number 8 on the data bus. >is their a book or courses that anyone can suggest , My textbook from college was 'Contemporary Logic Design' by Randy Katz. Someone uploaded the quick reference card for the 9100 TL1 and I just want to let you know it is now in the FLUKE/PDFs/9100 directory. If anyone has a simple utility that I can use to generate a small HTML page for TTL that would list the directory contents that would be great. I use Frontpage 2000... I found this site that may have the drive you need (Mitsumi) http://www.computertradeexchange.com/inventory/MADGE.html And this site has some information on jumpers for the TEAC http://www.bassontop.com/drivetext.htm I don't have a 9100a, so I may be out on a limb here but, the drives you need are 720k drives. So, getting a 1.44mb drive to work in it I would assume would require some rewrite of the 9100a floppy drive routines. Seems like it may be more work than it's worth. But if you look, maybe you can write some code for it. hey - got this one back to front! so, 6800 will definately have the circuitry [W11 and W12] 6800 = connects pin 5 to VMA signal 6502 = connects VMA signal to 5v looking at the 6800 circuit, I think it may be possible - will report back once I've pulled the 6800 pod apart and tried to turn some of these into reality

hi all.. I'm looking for a 6502 pod for my fluke 9100, it seems one of the tempests i was working on has killed my only working one.. I don't have oodles of spare time to sit and fix it, frankly fluke pods piss me off with all those customs :) So, i'm looking to buy another 6502 pod, and willing to trade in my faulty pod with anyone who may wish to part-exit or not.. And FYI the bad pod is coming up with random Address bus bits reporting as not driveable.. let me know off list if you would be so kind.. thanks :) Andy Welburn www.andys-arcade.com
