I pulled out my TI Databook vol 1 (1985) and the diagram in that book is the same as the 74158 (Page 220 of the new TI book) but the outputs 1Y to 4Y are not inverted for the '157. So that diagram is completely wrong, but interestingly the truth table is correct. I guess the clue is that the inputs and outputs from the diagram don't relate to the truth table! TI Data book wrong?

Just got the new Pocket data book from TI, nice book BUT is the dwg for 74157 wrong (or am I reading it wrong?) Page 218 doesn't look right to me. Thanks, Kev

9010A, Not sure what this means...

Working on a Centipede (6502 based). RAM test (Short or Long) on RAM that I think is good, I get "RAM DCD ERR @ 0000 BIT 0". I'm not sure what this means. I've tested the buffer chips (data and address) and they appear to be okay. When I run custom tests (reading and writing AA/55), the RAM seems okay. Can anyone elaborate on this error message? The manual didn't really help out. I'm not exactly sure what to do next with this board. (This board doesn't play blind, and nothing appears on monitor.) TIA. This is the RESET showing up...find the Watchdog Disable test point and connect it to ground. Then try your tests again. This is covered in the 9010A Operators manual, copies are available in PDF if you don't have a hard copy... So I got myself a Fluke 9010a and...

So I got myself a Fluke 9010a and I power it up, pod passes self test just fine.. I plug the beast into the Gravitar CPU socket, all good so far. Power up the 9010a and then the Gravitar. Now I do a RAM SHORT test from 0000-07FF and get the following error "Active Force Line @ 0000-Loop?" So, what am I doing wrong? The Gravitar board I'm using is a known good board, so this must be operator error, right? Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, JB

Construct: RS-232 adapter for 9010A's?

Would very many people be interested in these if they were made? I am thinking of just a PCB and folks then populate their own..or if someone here has time and wants the job, go for it! If I could get bare PCBs for around $20-$25US I would buy four or five - and one could use the latest RS-232 interface ICs for isolation instead of the old design. Maybe clock the thing up to 115,000 baud? Nice speed for DUMPER, eh?
