This came up on KLOV recently. Does anyone have a copy of the “User Library” PC software for communicating with a BK 560, or the manual for it? There’s a site that will sell a photocopy of the manual for $42+ship, but there don’t seem to be any scans. Other than that, this software seems to be MIA. _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com https://pairlist7.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ttl.arcadetech.org/TTL/Test_Equipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/
Have you tried emailing B&KPrecision? <ducking> It is a last resort, but if they have stuff, they probably would be happy to give it out at this point. I did the same for a Fluke product and they were willing to help. -----Original Message----- From: Techtoolslist [mailto:techtoolslist-bounces@flippers.com] On Behalf Of Ian Eure Sent: Sunday, January 8, 2017 9:09 AM To: Technical Tools Mail List <techtoolslist@flippers.com> Subject: [Techtoolslist] BK 560 This came up on KLOV recently. Nothing stunning so far, BK support did provide the 560A manual and 560A device list which is helpful as I don't think these have been scanned in (at least all I can ever find is the 560 manual labelled as 560A). At least for the 560A it's more than just PC software, there are new EPROMS. ------------------------------------------------------------- Model AK-560A User Library Software Package This software package allows the user to easily create device test procedures for lC's not already in the extensive library of the tester. Truth table tests are developed on a personal computer, then downloaded to the tester. The package includes software, documentation, two EPROMS and an RS-232 cable. I have no idea. I'm not sure if it's some (weak) attempt at copy protection, clearly not as thorough as something like the revised PAL ABI used for their Boardmaster 4000 PC access software.
A couple of years ago I dumped and sent the EPROMs inside my BK560A, they are on FTP.Library revision is 1.50, I think this is the latest (and only one).Don't forget BK560 and BK560A use separate libraries since hardware is different. Il 10/01/2017 23:45, John Robertson ha scritto:

Is your unit a BK560 with dark blue case?As I said BK560A has different hardware (a larger socket to test devices up to 28 pins, some new functions like LOOP).Hence library is different, it's stored on four 2764 EPROMs for BK560 and three 27128 for BK560A. Assume you're referring to the ABI ChipMaster? I checked these 3.01 ROM files and they are the same (same CRC32) of Version 3.00 which is inside the B&K_560A IC Library Ver 1.5 to 3.0.zip archive. Then there is a bit of confusion since BK560A has only one library revision (1.50), all the other ones from 2.00 to 3.00 are for BK560 so they are not compatible (BK560 uses four 2764 while BK560A three 27128) so the 1.50 must be taken out and the archive must be renamed B&K_560 IC Library Ver 2.00 to 3.00.zip. Just to point out : the version of the firmware is the one which you can see on display just after the self-test has been performed while the various library versions are shown after this if you press a whatever button.Lastly, the model of tester is shown on display after diagnostics (right after you power on the unit) Il 16/01/2017 20:06, John Robertson ha scritto:

To close this out. B&K support gave me what they were able to find, which was just the 860a manual and the 860a device list. No software. Someone on KLOV posted an 860b device list so I guess an 860b model does exist. All of these pdfs should now be up on the ftp site. My friends friend who's fairly high up in BK sales had his tech also look for the software but came back saying nothing could be found. _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com https://pairlist7.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ttl.arcadetech.org/TTL/Test_Equipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/
