I think the standard is 9LC.EXE and RKSIC.EXE. If you don't have them let me know and I'll see if I can send them to you. They run under all the old DOS versions, and *sometimes* they run OK on Windows platforms. I have no problems with those programs under Windows 2K...I should leave them on my download section for the fluke on flippers. I'll post them later today and provide a link. Does anyone know of a free FTP hosting site where we can store these things for others to grab? I don't have time to research that...I only have about ten megs free on my site and a large email can suck that dry... John :-#)# At 10:15 AM 02/02/2002 -0500, Alex Yeckley wrote:

What if you set up a simple anonymous FTP site? If only members of this list knew of it that would be fairly secure. We could upload and download scripts and programs only related to the 90XX. I am thinking of moving flippers.com to a new host as Jumpline seems to be down a lot..I have been promised lots more space for the same $$...then the FTP would be no problem for this group. On the subject of Fluke 9010 RS-232 .... I'm still looking for an RS232 card for my 9010 as it does not have one. If anyone has one from a dead unit or otherwise I'll buy it! My tape drive does not work either so I'm looking for one of those too. Hi Dave, One problem I found with the tape drives is the drive belt. You should be able to pick a similar belt at a TV/VCR repair shop. You will need to take the drive with you to size it. If anyone needs one and can't find it I am willing to make a run to my local wholesaler and pick up a pack of them, but there is a charge for that part as a result...time... You can also remove the tape drive and set it on top of the 9010 to see if it works and run the tests as covered in the Fluke service manual that is stored on http://www.spies.com/arcade/TE/index.html (Thanks to Al Kossow for archiving this!) There is a setting in Acrobat for that such thing. Funny thing is, I accidentally printed to the our color printer here and it was normal. Once I switched to the laser printer I wanted to use (no settings changes in Acrobat mind you), it was reverse imaged. Annoying it was - seemed to be a difference in printer defaults also. Anyway, the Acrobat setting should fix it. Greg John Robertson wrote:

I had this problem on a laser jet 4+ cured it by going to the printer options window and checking the box that says print as image. worked fine as long as i did that. Acrobat v 5 seems to have corrected it as i don't have to do it using ver 5 Regards pete(invadar) At 15:50 08-02-02 , you wrote:

Greetings all; Up untill recently my most involved task with video/pinball games have been Cap Kits and replacing Data East power driver board connectors. I have always deffered board repairs to others more qualified. That is till now. I recently purchased a Fluke 9010A with 6502 and Z80 pods from a fellow collector who needed cash and who like me is completely self taught. He convinced me that I could repair boards myself given a little hard work and patience. Now this may have just been part of his sales pitch, but I believed him & bought it. I met Kev a couple years ago & have stayed in touch. He gave me this list to subscribe to. Either in hopes I would come here instead of sending him 100's of emails full of newbish questions, or to generate conversation here. :) I have no background in electronics and everything I do know, I have picked up from working on my own collection of Arcade games & Pinballs the past couple of years. I am probably the last guy who should own a Fluke & should really pass it on to someone who will get better use of it. But before I do that, I would like to see if I can make some small use of it. To compound matters, I picked up a second Fluke 9010A base unit off of ebay. And herein lies my first question. The Ebay one has a digit going out, it flickers, gets real dim, then comes back. The plus side is that it has a RS232 port on it, my original one does not. Can I easily swap the RS232 to my original unit? I havent taken the cover off to see if its just a card or if its hardwired in. Second question concerns Oscilliscopes. First of I know I need one, How do I know? I have been told I do :). I do know I can display the output of Vector games on one that has XY inputs on it. What other uses for it, I am very vague on, but am willing to learn. The problem I am running into is knowing which units have XY inputs and which ones dont. I have been mainly looking at Ebay auctions & while they list alot of features, only one scope have I found so far has actually listed XY inputs ( a TEK 465M). Is there some other name this feature goes by that I am unaware of? Kev has been very patient & helpful, but I dont want to wear out my welcome in his inbox :) So I bring my questions here & hope my lack of knowledge is not to embarrassing apparent. I have picked up a few books & my Fluke came with a 4 cd set instruction set that I have just begun. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Welcome Randy! Yes, you can just swap the RS-232 card, it's easy. As for 'scopes, well we have an old dual trace one at the shop, I doubt it is faster than 40 megs and seems to do just fine if it is thumped correctly. My tech never uses the thing. He uses a logic probe and the Fluke for fixing most of his boards. The memory test, BUS test and ROM test grab about 90% of the problems, and it is a bit of scouting to get the remaining problems... Radio Shack had a good book on service theory, or SAMS Photofacs(?) publishes a few that are great for beginners. I've been beating games up since the 70's and I'm self taught...no courses in game repair back then. John :-3)# At 08:34 PM 08/02/2002 -0500, Randy Bissett wrote:

While there's all this great talk of 9010A's and stuff, thought I'd ask, does anyone have a 9010A probe that they'd like to sell or trade? I have a 9010A, and a semi-broken Z80 pod I am fixing, and intentions to actually use it to fix something :) I believe I need the little logic-probe looking thing that plugs into the DB9 socket on it to use it properly. I have many things to trade, parts, game boards, test equipment, etc, so if you have one, give me an email and we can work something out. If you have any spare pods I'd be interested too!
