ADCOM PRO-2 EPROM Emulator
Any one have information on these tools? I'm looking for replacement emulator for my shop (lost mine during the move in 2017 as far as I can tell) and I see these ADCOMs around. Problem is I can't find any info on them at all. Bitsavers has nothing, Archive.org, nada... So, if you have the floppy and info sheets I'd be interested! Certainly host them on TTL. Quick followup. I decided that it looked like the ADCOM probably used a parallel port for programming so I continued looking and found a very inexpensive USB based EPROM emulator for around 20 Euros. Ordered it. https://www.shotech.de/en/eprom-emu-usb-bau.html You can also by the bare board and the software and docs are a free download. I think I will wander around that site to see what other toys might be of use! I will still be happy to host the Adcom emulator docs, etc if anyone has a set but no longer plan to get it. Thanks for reading! I don't have any experience but I'm curious what your use case is for this tool? I understand what it is, just not sure how it's useful for you. I can see how it would be very useful for developing custom code for a given board but I assumed you were more repair focused. Tony

I am modifying code for my soon-to-be released Bally Home pinball MPU (System 1) replacement sub-board and so far have been burning a couple of dozen EPROMs to try and troubleshoot the last annoying bit.... The EPROM emulator would cut my wait time to basically zero and reduce wear and tear on the EPROM socket. It may not arrive in time for this project but I will be doing this again for some other obsolete MPUs (ALI & Rotation 8) in the near future so it is a useful tool for me to have on the shelf. I've used the "memSIM2" a couple of times and it worked. YMMV - my usage was in a non-game project (I know...). I also didn't put a logic analyzer on it to see how clean the signals are. But it was easy to use and nothing caught on fire. https://www.ebay.com/itm/memSIM2-EPROM-Emulator/162310534410 Takes a while to arrive - coming from Poland. --Kurt On 7/10/19 7:34 AM, John Robertson wrote:

I have to admit, that looks like a cool tool i am a sucker and ordered one :D , will make it easier then reburning eeproms over and over and over again for testing stuff... Back to the ADCOM device, looks like it was made in Israel, so if any of our members happen to live there and are interested in getting some background info on the company that would be great! Their web site appears to be breaking down though: http://www.adcom-products.com/Content211.html?i=35 So I suspect they are defunct (wayback machine shows problems starting around 2018) but perhaps the designer is still around. As far as I can tell the products ADCOM PRO-x series are all EPROM Programmers, and are not Emulators. In any case it would be nice if someone in that part of the world could get the documents and software for our archives....
