Probably a display dummy. --- John Robertson <jrr@flippers.com> wrote:
I think the eBay seller was scammed - the auction story was this was found in a storage unit. I suspect someone (service tech?) previously simply stole the PCB, and popped the Styrofoam in to replace it and it then went back to the owner who promptly forgot about it.
Oddly enough the socket IS the original one for the burner and the LEDs are the correct colours for the locations they occupy. Someone went to some trouble!
It seems a bit too obvious for a technical person to not notice this 'feature' when they would buy it that leads me to assume the seller is innocent. They don't sell any other electronic gear. I've simply asked for my money back and I shall then mail it back to him...
No reply so far (six hours)! I think my feedback could prove to be interesting if I'm not satisfied (link to pictures comes to mind!).
Always best to not annoy techies or computer nerds, isn't it?

Had an amusing purchase on eBay - twas supposed to be a Xeltek Superpro burner...received it (well packed), and tried to hook it up. Hmmm, wrong DB25 plug on unit. Let's open and see what the problem is...
Wow, that's an awful lot of work. To FIND such a case, know that a ZIF socket goes there.
Do you have enough information to nail the guy ?
