Not my experience. If your 9100A came with the GPIB option you have the identical SCSI controller card as used on the 9100FT (as it's this card that provides the IEEE). Bottom line the 9100FT boots far faster than the 9100A when using identical SCSI controllers and SCSI hard drives.
