Hi Guys, What on earth is this thing for? Fluke Helios 200 pod?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2549948052 Just curious... Regards, Paul.
Got me. ;-) Suntans? (Helio is the Sun as I recall) A Helios 200 is some type of telescope but I suspect this is something else. I've bid $25US on the sucker and hope to find out...(maybe). John :-#)# At 09:30 AM 06/08/2003 -0700, Paul Swan wrote:

Helios was a test system put out by Fluke that was designed for taking lots of analog measurements, such as temperatures (thermocouples). It had a mainframe and then different breakout modules for different types of signals. The mainframe interfaced to a host computer and you could upload the data. We have one here on the shelf but no one ever uses it anymore, it will problably be excess property soon. Thad Paul Swan wrote:

Thanks Thad, Well, it should be good as a parts pod at least, I just killed another Z80 pod cable! (I know that Digi-Key makes a cable that will work, but the shell etc are handy). John :-#)# At 01:17 PM 06/08/2003 -0400, John Thad Seeberger wrote:

Did a scan for "Helios Computer" and, using what John said about Helios meaning "Sun" it looks like it is a computer made for the European/Russian market by Sun Computers. Probably about as useful as a SC/MP pod! At least the SC/MP II was used in Gremlin wall games (John and I may be the only two that remember those). Paul Swan wrote:

A game based on an SC/MP - I remember a single board computer kit with one of those in, but never any games! ok, own up - who has the roms ...

On the topic of Gremlin Wall Games I have the manuals and schematics for those suckers if anyone ever wants to try their hand at fixing them, plus the receiver and transmitter alignment procedures. I resemble that suggestion that Rodger and I are the only ones old enough to remember those games... John :-#)# At 12:19 PM 06/08/2003 -0500, Rodger Boots wrote:

It is a Fluke 9000-200 Pod Adapter. But what is the CPU it is for? I asked for a better scan of the pod but since John bid on it already I'm leaving it alone.
