Rom needed for Data I/O 303A-011A V01 Module
Hi All, I have a Data I/O 303A-011A V01 module <http://sturgeon.css.psu.edu/%7Emloewen/Oldtech/Test/DataIO-1L.jpg> and it seems to work fine, but there's a ROM missing at U7. I believe there should be four 27256 eproms. Does anyone happen to have V01 of this module with four roms? I'm trying to confirm if it only needs 3 roms or if I can get someone to send me the data for the missing rom. It should be 324-1725-007. By the way, I'm also looking for V18 roms as well if someone could help a brother out. ;-) I looked on ftp.flippers.com but I can't seem to find those particular roms. Unless I'm blind. Thanks! Matt Hi Matt (and other Data I/O owners),
There is a Data I/O mail list and one of the gurus of the I/O world (Alfred Marin) regularly posts there and he helps out the folks there a lot. Yahoo! Matt, on my unit, which I don't know how to tell if it's V001 or what, I have 4 EPROMs: 324-1725-023,024,025,026. oops, now I see a sticker inside that says V04. Well I found someone with a V01 module and he confirmed that it only has 3 eproms so my module is complete. I'll make a backup of them. From the docs I've read, V01 is the one module that is difficult to upgrade because you need to replace the daughter card. V2-V4 is a simple resistor change along with the software. The versions after that don't require any hardware change as far as I know. I'll be getting a V14 module fairly soon, which means this one is going on ebay unless someone here is interested in it. If the two of you can send me the ROM/PROM dumps I'll add them to the TTL archives...do label each image by its part number please and zip the files with the version label (if you don't mind). Thanks, John :-#)#

I'm going to do that since V01 is kind of unique, meaning if you have this module you're pretty much stuck with this particular code. :-\ When I get the V14 module I'll upload those as well. I'm going to see if I can locate the V18 code since that seems to be the very latest and supports the most devices.

I have a big box of Data IO plug-ins in storage at my Dad's house. I'll get over there as soon as possible and bring them back to see what exactly I've got and what versions in case dumps would be useful. On a slight tangent, I seem to recall having a plug-in marked LogicPak but without any sockets. It seemed to me that it was more like a dongle in that you plug it into the Data IO and then get more menu options in promlink or another tool. Prior to seeing the multi-socket LogicPak Andy Welburn recently bought I'd assumed the whole PLD setup worked as follows: 1. Plug in LogicPak "dongle" module. 2. Data IO recognises module and enables PLD building/testing/equations setup functionality in the controller software. 3. The PLD fuse map is generated in software and saved. 3. Socket-less dongle is removed and something like a Unipak or other plug-in with sockets is installed and the fuse map generated in step 3 is blown to the device. Does this ring a bell with anybody? The obvious solution is for me to get access to my box of bits, but finding time is proving quite tricky. Sorry for the slight derailing and thanks in advance for any input you can give. The socketless adapter is probably the MMI PALASM or similar compiler adapter - you would use it to compile your boolean equations and generate the JEDEC fuse map. You would then still use the logicpak with an adapter to program the device. Very manufacturer specific unlike a software compiler like Cupl, Abel, etc. wich were not vendor specific but could target devices from any of several vendors.
