Hp/agilent/keysight 16702b
Picked one of these up on ebay for $200. Bad hard drive (scsi), have a scsi2sd adapter on the way to bring it back k to life. Mostly got it because it came with the 16522 pattern generator board. Had the full set of cables but only 1 pod, but was able to get a set of 5 more for $20 each. Have visions of doing bench testing of the mcr2 video boards completely stand alone. Move my 16550 timing / state card from my 16500b (which also had a hard drive fail). Welcome to the club! I just gave away a ton of 167xx compatible cards, including a pattern generator card, all working, I have too many LA(s). I find using the pattern generator card a pita, its not very fun to configure ( and i am doing it from the windows software ) on my 16902B William Stillwell On Sat, May 6, 2023 at 4:50 PM Tony Jones <tony@tonyjones.com> wrote:

David, two VERY important things to note: - before you reignite the 16702B ADJUST THE DATE/TIME or the reignite process will not work -please look for info about the plastic runners on the bottom of the cards, and corrosion caused by them. I have a video (in [very poor]english) posted somewhere Good luck, it is a GREAT tool 73 de pu2sex Alexandre Enviado do meu Tele-Movel Em sáb., 6 de mai. de 2023 17:27, David Shoemaker <davids@oz.net> escreveu:

Thanks for the note about the date / time. I checked the 16550 and 16522 cards and they don't have the runners so all good there. When I go to get (if) I get the more advanced cards I will check them right away. Got the scsi2sd in, put a card in and configured drive one as a 32gb hard drive. Burned the ignite ISO image. Set the date/time but it didn't stick, had to change the battery on the main board, coin cell but requires you to pull the CPU board out completely which is a pain. Now the date / time survive a reboot. Did the reignite, which worked fine (though it threw an error about being able to copy something or another and than sat there for 5 minutes and I gave up and shut it down) Tried again and let it sit and it continued fine and finished after about an hour. Have loaded: 16522A pattern generator card 16550A 102 channel state/timing card And loaded my 16530/16531 oscilloscope cards. But apparently I misread the compatibility matrix and these are not supported on the 16700 series. ☹ Anyone have a spare 16533A or 16534A card they want to part with? I found a 16500 on ebay with one but it would end up being $500 for the unit with shipping. Need to find a PS2 mouse, my box of "wired" mice are all usb. They're expensive working. When I wanted a second I ended up just watching eBay for mainframe units close by that included one. Sellers sometimes don't list the installed cards but you can spot what's installed in the photos. They do suffer from the runner corrosion issues. I expect you know 33A->34A is just a resistor swap. Good luck.

I have a 16534 and two 16715 cards i put away that i don't need, they were tested before being stored in 2021, I know the 534 had some traces fixed, the 715's are modded, they will not work in master/slave mode, but will work stand along, no cables or pods. If anybody is interested please send me an offer. William Stillwell On Sun, May 21, 2023 at 3:49 AM Tony Jones <tony@tonyjones.com> wrote:

To anyone considering buying a used 1653[34]a scope card. The mainframe self test is not sufficient to verify these cards. You need to run the self calibration which requires a coax T setup. A couple of my 16534 cards fully pass self test but totally fail calibration.

Hey William, I was going to send you an offer on the 534 and one of the 715's but can't find an actual email for you. Your apparently magic to the TT mail list and it always just says "On behalf of William Stillwell". Ping me and let's talk 😊 David -----Original Message----- From: Techtoolslist <techtoolslist-bounces@flippers.com> On Behalf Of William Stillwell Sent: Wednesday, May 24, 2023 5:39 AM To: Technical Tools Mail List <techtoolslist@flippers.com> Subject: Re: [Techtoolslist] Hp/agilent/keysight 16702b I have a 16534 and two 16715 cards i put away that i don't need, they were tested before being stored in 2021, I know the 534 had some traces fixed, the 715's are modded, they will not work in master/slave mode, but will work stand along, no cables or pods.
