I have written a DosBox Wrapper that will allow FIDE to run the 16 Bit 9LC Wrapper in 64 Bit Windows Machine ( Tested on Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit ) You can download the compressed archive here: http://www.coinopflorida.com/fluke/DosBox_9LC.rar Just install Dos Box 0.74 to its default directory, and extract the above files into the Internal Directory of FIDE I am still tweaking it, but for now its will allow you to compile a script, and then send it using the toolbar button, the "Compile & Send" doesn't work, FIDE trys to send the file before its compiled ( I have a good idea what is causing this and can be fixed, but will need to test more ) _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com http://seven.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ttl.arcadetech.org/TTL/Test_Equipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/

Thanks. I always keep legacy computers around to run software like this but this is a great solution. Will try this when I can. Thanks for sharing. Pat Sent from my iPad

I would not ever judge, I was a lead developer on a VB6 Payroll Application that paid 100K daily, it was finally replaced in 2010. I think VB6 was one of the best RAD system Microsoft ever came up with. I think if Apple had a VB / RAD System for their System Software they would of owned the Computer World. I still think Apple needs to work on a easy to use RAD Development suite that doesn't require a PH.D in applied physics to use. I think you did a very good job with FIDE, and thanks for sharing the link to the code, it will be fun to re-write it using a modern language, its actually just a file browser, an editor, and then creates and runs a batch file. It would be nice if we could just re-write 9lc.exe to be a 64 bit application or java app that could be run on multiple platforms... I *shun* to even suggest that... I need to go watch my hands now, I said *java* .. -----Original Message----- From: Techtoolslist [mailto:techtoolslist-bounces@flippers.com] On Behalf Of James Bright Sent: Friday, September 05, 2014 8:51 AM To: 'Technical Tools Mail List' Subject: Re: [Techtoolslist] Success... Hi James, (private - if you prefer or fling to Tech Tools) I have a small suggestion for FIDE - can you change the ROM Signature generator Test Range so the first entry isn't fixed? I have some games (later Game Plan pinball boards for example) where the ROM image is actually split and 0000-07FFFh is in one section and 0800 - 0FFFh is in another. With the current sig generator script I can only test the whole image, or the first half... Also when you put another value in the the default length it still gives the full range of the ROM image in the generated script, not the truncated new size. so I can generate the 0000 - 07FFF sig, but the script still claims it is for 0000-0FFFFh. Thanks! John :-#)# On 09/05/2014 5:50 AM, James Bright wrote:

I have written a DosBox Wrapper that will allow FIDE to run the 16 Bit 9LC Wrapper in 64 Bit Windows Machine ( Tested on Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit )
You can download the compressed archive here:
http://www.coinopflorida.com/fluke/DosBox_9LC.rar
Just install Dos Box 0.74 to its default directory, and extract the above files into the Internal Directory of FIDE
I am still tweaking it, but for now its will allow you to compile a script, and then send it using the toolbar button, the "Compile & Send" doesn't work, FIDE trys to send the file before its compiled ( I have a good idea what is causing this and can be fixed, but will need to test more )
