hi all. Its a job i've been meaning to do for literally 3 years, and tonight seemed like the night. It went much quicker than i expected, but seeing as i've been inside the 9100 a fair number of times now, and pissed about with the stupid software semantics, i didn't waste hours farting about... i put up some pics on my fluke page: http://www.andysarcade.net/personal/tech/fluke9100/index.htm enjoy! -- Andrew Welburn http://www.andys-arcade.com _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com http://seven.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ftp.flippers.com/TTL/TestEquipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/

Thanks Andy, Martin, and all - I am determined to resurrect my 9100s this spring with the suggestions you have provided (quite fan, CF, etc.). Having the CF option makes it easier to upgrade the program on one machine, then move the disk to another unit... Nice one! That's the exact same donor hardware as I used. I didn't bother fannying about with the grill though, I just removed it and left it out. Where my 9100 is situated, the drives aren't visible anyway. Did I not give you the image of my system way back when? If so, it would be useful if you could image that back onto a CF card to see if it's locked to my serial or not. The bonus of that image as well is that because it came from a 60mb scsi, the system can see it all and report it all properly. Not that we'll ever use that much anyway! And of course, the image is 6.1... Anyway, well done - nice job. Hopefully we'll see some stuff happening on 9100's soon. I've got a few things bubbling away. Martin. Just added an update, with the help of Martin White, Dan Pearson, Tim Matthews i managed to backup/restore the CFcard to files using linux, and it works! I'm not a Linux user so i made it fairly step-by-step for the uninitiated like me. -- Andrew Welburn http://www.andys-arcade.com
