Just found today (Saturday, Nov 3, 2012) a few updated sets of training manuals for both the 9100A and 9110FT - which appear to be factory proof sets - printed single side (originals) with Post-it notes saying "MASTER" and internal Fluke documents talking about making production copies...see the first page on a couple of the 1994 files. These came with a recent 9100 purchase that I had set aside without looking over fully. Must power up the 9100 base and see what software is installed! The latest documents were from 11/1994, there is also a 10/1993 set too. I think the difference depends on the version of software or just improvements to the documents over time. Note that the 1994 FT manuals specify that Rev. 6.1 software is loaded on the machine. Note also that the Fluke copy sheet notes at the front of the 1994 FT Vol 2 manual say "DO NOT USE Equipmt (sic) never updated to match manual - use old text". So, raises the question about if the last revision I've loaded is able to be used or if the FT series never implemented all the features (new?) covered in the 1994 Part 2. I've also renamed the files and added the Fluke part numbers when they existed on the files. Interestingly, one file was misnamed - it actually is the installation instructions for Ver 6.0 software - It turns out there were four versions of 6.0 software update packs, depending on if you have 3.0 or higher, or 5.0 and if your machine has the programmer option or not. Interesting notes on bugs cured and remaining for those who are writing programs for the 9100A/FT. I suspect 6.1 was the last version and may have only been intended for the FT series - if anyone has a 9100A running 6.1 please let us know. Also some TEAC notes on emulating a 720 drive. All now found in the TTL /Fluke/PDFs/9100_fixture directory. IIRR 6.1 won't load on a 9100a, I thought it was because of bad disk image, but it makes sense now you say it. I'll have to read the documents a bit later, bug fixes! Hey guys, I'm new here, did a long intro mail but it never arrived so I do a very short one now. Just wanted to report that I bought a Fluke 9100A last weekend. It has V6.1 running. The system came with the programmer keyboard and has a video card. It has 4 MB Ram and the ROMS are V5. There is a 340 MB SCSI Seagate Harddrive in it. It works 100% It came with a lot of extra stuff, I'll report more later. Verstuurd vanaf mijn iPad Op 4 nov. 2012 om 23:07 heeft John Robertson <jrr@flippers.com> het volgende geschreven:

Hi Martin, Its been so long since I last looked at a 9100A that I just don't recall that. The copy of 6.1 that I have on TTL (Fluke/9100A/System_DiscsRV6.1) are in a zip dated Jan 22, 2003 - is that your set? Is the set unlocked - in other words can it be installed in any machine (not serialized)? What I would like to do is replace the SCSI drive with a SSD of some sort. Then I would be inclined to actually USE the 9100 - currently I haven't because I don't trust the drive to work for more than a few weeks/months before grinding to a halt and taking all the software with it... Now I know that Andrew has done work on converting the 9100A to PCMCIA, etc. http://www.andys-arcade.com/personal/tech/fluke9100/index.htm (task #9) so, it has been done (a few years ago)...just need to take a bit of time I guess and look into it more. What I will be doing over the next little while it tidying up the TTL Fluke directory to make it easier to find information and have it more logically (well...my idea of logically) organized. Hope it helps folks! John :-#)#

Ah, ok, you obviously haven't done that yet 😊 I emailed it over in about 2008 after doing the SSD conversion. It was an image of my SSD. Andy did the same conversion at some point after that and kindly documented it - I didn't think to as I merrily got on with making the keyboard adapter. Andy was using the same image for his SSD. I’ve never made it publicly available for that exact reason, don't know if its processor locked or not. I assumed it wasn’t as I thought you were both using it on your 9100A’s.... Hence now wondering if it was processor locked and it didn't work? Or FT only and it didn't work? To be honest i remember this vaguley, but because my system was built on 6.0 it would mean pulling every file off individually that i've created and i just didn't get round to doing it... so, its ringing bells, but i'm not running 6.1 but now you mention it, yeh i guess 6.1 does work on a 9100A if you use Martins image.. i know the disks on flippers did not work for me no matter how much i tried.. :) Andrew Welburn http://www.andys-arcade.com On 06/11/2012 18:02, martin@guddler.co.uk wrote:
Ah, ok, you obviously haven't done that yet 😊
I emailed it over in about 2008 after doing the SSD conversion.

Martin.
Hi Martin,
Its been so long since I last looked at a 9100A that I just don't recall that.
Now I know that Andrew has done work on converting the 9100A to PCMCIA, etc.
http://www.andys-arcade.com/personal/tech/fluke9100/index.htm (task #9)
so, it has been done (a few years ago)...just need to take a bit of time I guess and look into it more.
What I will be doing over the next little while it tidying up the TTL Fluke directory to make it easier to find information and have it more logically (well...my idea of logically) organized. Hope it helps folks!

IIRR 6.1 won't load on a 9100a, I thought it was because of bad disk image, but it makes sense now you say it. I'll have to read the documents a bit later, bug fixes! No way :) that's part of the fun of using TL/1 :)
I'll be working on several 9100's soon and I'll be making an update to my 9100 page with progress...

I too appear to have a 9100A with 6.1 happily running on it. This was a new machine I picked up afew months ago and had never gotten around to powering it up... ROM 2.2, other software is all 6.1 - has the video (programming) option. Shall try yanking the drive in a few days and seeing if it works in another machine - if it does then it would appear that 6.1 is not serialized. John :-#)#

The floppies I have here don't show any printed serial nrs. on them. I have two sets of the original Fluke disks so I don't think it is likely they are serialized...companies who would own more 9100's would definitly want to know which floppy set would belong to which machine if they were serialized...so you would expect the machine's serial nr. to be printed on the floppy labels. But I agree it's not a 100% definite indication... Op 6 nov. 2012, om 23:51 heeft Barry Shilmover <barry@shilmover.com> het volgende geschreven:

Yup, sitting since late 2011. Somehow you had Fluke original proofs of the 9100 training books that I have just scanned and uploaded... Have to dig more in the boxes (need to find them - they have drifted away from the box holding the 9100A), perhaps there are floppies? I have WAY too much stuff (if that is possible?)! John :-#)#
