I recorded all of the sigs using a HP 5004a for Centipede, Millipede and Missile Command to get the equivalent versions of all the Catbox sigs listed in the manuals. Depending on where the Start, Stop and Clock is placed on the board, the signatures were either different or the same as the Catbox sigs.
From memory I think the ones around the CPU were different and this is where the clock division is required but sigs for other parts of the circuitry were the same as the manual.
The guide is hosted here (and other places) if anyone wants a copy http://www.arcade-cabinets.com/HP5004a_sigs/HP5004a_sig_centipede_MC_millipe... Thanks, Mark On Sat, Jun 18, 2016 at 3:30 PM, John Robertson <jrr@flippers.com> wrote:

I have the hp sig sheet for asteroids How to divide them I used a hex calculator Like I said it did not have p on it So how can I convert the hp to Atari I think the division is 3 Thanks tony
I think you want to divide the clock by 2 to get the Atari signatures - so you won't need to convert them. Or am I still not getting it?
Here is one discussion on the problem:

Obviously I have a lot to learn about signatures - haven't used them in years...

Yep you need a clock divider. There should be Docs out there with the HP sigs somewhere.

Well, of course I could be wrong - I haven't run SA on an Asteroids
board in the past five or so years, and today found a good one in my box'o boards and didn't need to again.
I haven't used the CAT box (still have two of these - a regular one, and a prototype) in years as I have a nice HP Signature Multimeter (5005A) that I use instead when I need to run SA tests, and (AIR) I simply used the Atari signature from that sheet to repair the boards. However it has been years since I last tried and could easily be wrong...

I don't believe this is true. Normally you need to divide the clock
to use a HP but get signatures that match the Atari docs, since the CAT box can perform a NOP in a single clock.

Atari (and Kurz Kasch) used the HP signatures - so if you are not
getting the same results make sure the signatures you have are correct for the game. It is always possible you are looking at Asteroids DELUXE signatures for example...
I am attaching some info that may help.

asteroids Signature-Analysis cat box
I dug out the cat box
And am trying to fix a board with a problem in the state machine
I found the hp asteroids Signature-Analysis
But they do not match
Does anyone have the Atari cat box asteroids Signature sheet
Also any of the Signature-Analysis for the cat box
Would be great also
Thanks tony
