I'm trying out my 9010 and z80 pod for the first time and having some troubles. The main unit and pod pass self test fine but don't work when I plug the pod into a z80 socket on a game board. I'm getting a "POD TIMEOUT - ATTEMPTING RESET" error when attempting any tests.
Generally this error will be reported if the UUT is either not powered up or has some other major problem. Does the game board work? Is it powered up? Are you sure? What board is it? I would ensure the UUT is powered and *try a different UUT* as well. Oh, is pin 1 at the correct end of the socket?
I'm trying to troubleshoot the pod itself
IIRC that requires a second (working) identical POD.
and the z80 pod manual says to "disable all forcing line and interrupt inputs and set all forcing line and interrupt traps to NO during Setup Editing". I can change the setup options fine but I don't see anything in the manuals about disabling forcing line and interrupt inputs. Does anyone know what that means?
Er, I know what the manual means, but I'm not sure what the sentence above means: You start off with "manual says to..." and end with "don't see anything in the manual about..." ??? You can scroll though the entire setup menu and all of the options you mentioned above are in there. You can set them all to "NO" if you like. Near as I can tell, that's what you seem to be saying the manual is trying to tell you to do. Did I mention making sure the UUT is powered up? :-)
Any other advice about getting this going?
See above.
