I don't know how much use a frequency counter is for you, I use mine about every four or five months to check if an interrupt generator on Bally/Stern MPUs is working, but nothing else these days. Older silver age videos (B&W non microprocessor based) were the biggest user of this tool, good for following the clock divider...Often a frequency counter is built into other test items-scopes, multimeters, etc, that is the route I would go to reduce shop clutter... As for the Pace, well, the tool is not that inexpensive. I'll buy the station from you if you want to get rid of it, I have a shop use for the toy... Is this an adequate frequency counter for videogame repair purposes:
Heathkit Frequency Counter Model IM-4100 http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=289956727
If not, what would be a good brand/model to get that is available and cheap?
Also looking for the solder gun and extractor for a Pace MBT-200 at a reasonable price. I bought one of Clay's stations a few months back but haven't had much luck finding these at a decent price.
Thanks!
