If I wanted to play with IEEE-488 and assuming ZERO knowledge what would I need to interface a PC to IEEE-488 equipment?
What sort of PC?
What sort of software?
Anything to watch out for?
Any & all suggestions/comments appreicated.

Go look at www.ni.com. National Instruments is has been *the* place for IEEE488 interface cards and software for the last two decades....
