Do you know if they are the some from pod to pod so that I can at least verify my pod still works? I have a couple Z80 and an 8086 pod that I can pull from to verify but I haven't had a chance to pin out the cables yet. Still not talking to myself over the reversed connector issue... Oh...that might not be so good for the pod.
I do have used, untested, pod-base connector cables for sale. Say, I dunno, $20US plus shipping seem fair? TTL members only pricing...

Thanks for the reply - actually, it's the cable that goes from the 9010 base to the pod that I reversed inside the pod and is also the one that wiggling seemed to allow the self test to pass. Are those available anywhere or should I recrimp pins into the connector? I am assuming they are different from pod to pod - is this a correct assumption as well? As for rummaging through your extensive pile of spare parts, when can I show up?
Thanks, Greg

Unlikely that reversing the cable would damage the pod. The inputs are ALL protected up to 15VDC as I recall. Rather it is far more likely that you simply have a bad cable. You can order one from Digi-Key - Single-Ended - Style 2 (or 4 depending on where you want pin 1) from CW Industries - the Canadian part number (hey I'm in Canada) is C2PXT-4018M-ND for an 18 inch one that you can then simply crimp on the 40 pin socket #CSR40T-ND (with strain relief).
At least that's what I would do (after rummaging through my pile of pod spare parts (extensive)).

I received a Fluke 8088 pod yesterday and plugged it in to do a self test to see if my 'untested' pod worked or not. Well the test failed, but if I wiggled the cable at the pod side it seemed to pass - so I pulled the case apart to look for loose connections or wires. I looked at the cable connection that was a little lose, disconnected it, plugged it back in and ran the test again to produce nothing at all. Next, I realized the connector was on backwards - nice. Of course, reversing it producing nothing but a failure worse than before and wiggling the cable does nothing. Anyone done this yet that has some info on how much damage it did to the pod? I could troubleshoot it with another 8088 pod, but I do not have another...
