Folks, if you use a piece of test equipment that stores settings after the power is off then you have either a battery or Memory Cap (SuperCap) inside. If it is a battery then you run a very serious risk of damage to the test equipment if the battery was to leak! What comes out is potassium hydroxide (an Alkaline (BASE)) and it will destroy the traces and components close to it. Or even a fair distance depending on how the vapors flow....
