All, I have a couple of Fluke products made for warehouse/assembly (namely the Fluke 1020 and 1050). They are both touch screens with a keyboard. One is monochrome, the other color. Anyway, I picked up the 1020 because it had the keyboard and wanted to see if I could use it with the 9100 (and the monitor is nearly identical inside too). Anyway, the keyboard looks like the original 9100A keyboard from Oak, but the keys are a bit different (see picture). The cable was ruined, so I swapped that. The 9100 recognizes that there is a keyboard attached and goes into programmer’s mode, but the keyboard does nothing except for beeping when keys are pressed (LEDs on the keyboard flash when fluke starts and work when pressed). Since I had it open, I pulled the EPROM and read it, figuring I could take the ROM from the similar 9100A keyboard and make it mostly work. The PCB in the keyboard appears identical, its the strange cpu with the piggybacked eprom. When I compare the ROM file on TTL ftp site and the one I read off my keyboard, they are identical. Which surprised me. All I can think of is that some of the other chips on the pcb are different. Anyone have one of the Oak fluke keyboards that can send me high resolution images of the PCB and chips on the board? When I made the USB Data Logger, a fellow user actually sent me his Fluke Keyboard so i could data log ALL the keyboard key combos ( as they were not documented ) .. I would connect the keyboard up and setup , the pinout is in my git hub https://github.com/ki4swy/FlukeUSBAdapter You will need to apply power, then pull reset low to reset the keyboard, and then using a Standard TTL USB Serial Adapter set to 1200 Baud, see the codes from the keyboard ( use something that can view Hex Data, not ASCII ) I do have a picture of the two style keyboards: https://github.com/ki4swy/FlukeUSBAdapter/blob/master/Fluke%20keyboards.jpg Notice the Fluke actually uses 2 Key Wide Buttons on the number pad. Thanks, Yeah, I was using your picture to compare it to mine :) I will have to try that. I am assuming the matrix is different between the 2 keyboards. The 9100 is part number 5-64993-143, mine is 5-64955-099. I need to figure out the matrix on both keyboards and see if I can build a small adapter. That's actually my picture. I've posted it a few times over the years when looking for a spare/backup keyboard. Except I just composed it from two other images I stole off the web and added the relevant part #s :-) Did anyone ever get anywhere with the later Keytronic version? I desoldered and dumped the EPROM from my FT keyboard at someones request here a few years ago. The hw layout of the generic Keytronic (I bought off eBay) was quite a bit different so it wasn't going to be a simple eprom swap. Update: Thanks to Chris sending me pictures, I was able to figure it out. I thought the PCB on the 9100 and the 1020 were the same. Well, technically, they are identical, same part number (mine is rev 2, the image I have is rev3), etc. However!! I noticed that there is space for a chip that is not populated (labeled ‘ST1-ST8’). its not for a chip, its a set of possible jumpers. The 9100 pcb has a jumper in the first position. Mine (1020) has no jumpers. Adding a jumper on mine and they keyboard works on the 9100! So it looks like this PCB can support different keyboard Matrix(es) with just different jumpers. 9100 PCB: 1020 PCB (solder is from my test): Here is what the back of the PCB looks like with the jumpers going to the eprom: Still need a keyboard as the keys are all wrong, but its good progress.
