Re: [Techtoolslist] 6800 to 6502 pod combo ROM?
remember that to convert a 6800 pod to 6502 you maust change some jumpers, not the only one on the eprom's higher address line ----- Original Message ----- From: Theron Troxel Sent: 12/29/13 09:41 PM To: Technical Tools Mail List Subject: Re: [Techtoolslist] 6800 to 6502 pod combo ROM? I had a question on this, too. I am trying to convert my 6800 to 6502 over the weekend and having problems getting it to work. Can you use the original ROM, and if so, how? I tried tying pin 19 to high, and my 9010a just beeps and won't turn on. If I cut the trace the fluke turns on, but then I get a TIMEOUT error on the pod when I self test. I would appreciate any help on this. I followed the guide at Klov and made the cuts and added the jumpers. Just wondering what I did wrong.

eprom file is 540344 http://arcarc.xmission.com/Test%20Equipment/Fluke/6800pod/
it already contains firmware for 6800/6502 cpus. just toggle eprom pin 19 (a10) _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com http://seven.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ttl.arcadetech.org/TTL/Test_Equipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/

REALLY stupid question, but you did also replace the 6800 with a 6502, right? On Dec 29, 2013 5:18 PM, "Troxelone" <troxelone@yahoo.com> wrote:

Is there a difference between a 6502a and a 6502p? I took a 6502p out of my working Centipede PCB and put it in the pod.

6502P would be 1MHz in a plastic case. 6502A is a 2 MHz part (needed especially for vector games). On Dec 29, 2013 6:53 PM, "Troxelone" <troxelone@yahoo.com> wrote:

I went back and double checked my work on cut traces and jumpers and didn't see any errors. I replaced the 6800 with a 6502a, and tied pin 19 to VCC. Can I use the original ROM in the 6800 POD? If so, is it more than just tying pin 19 to VCC? Thanks again!
