9010 service manual revision / mainboard revisions
Hi Does anyone have a 9010 service manual change/revision sheet newer than "Issue 2 6/84" that they'd be willing to scan in? I picked up a large number of 9010 mainframes and I was curious on the various mainboard (579268) revisions. The 9010 service manual (page 7A-2) documents upto revision E. Issue 2 of the change sheet that I have documents through revision J. I took some pics (link below), a few of the mainboards are revision P and P-1. One looks like a 'Y' but I initially dismissed that thinking I must be misreading it, as it's a big jump from P. A couple are rev "AB". I initially took this to mean a very early rev but I noticed each AB has is a "Buffer Assy daughterboard" in place of one of the ICs that is marked (c) 1987 which is 3 years after the Issue 2 changesheet. So I'm thinking AB is actually a revision rollover past Z. The only reference to GFI I can find in the manuals is Guided Fault Isolation - which is a process you set up on either the 9010 or 9100 when building a test program. from Troubleshooter V4#2: Guided Fault Isolation. Under Guided Fault Isolation (GFI), the 9100A Series controls the entire troubleshooting proc- ess, telling the operator what to do at each step and interpreting all the response data. The operator doesn't even have to enter board-specific information: all reference and parts data, interconnectivity information, stim- ulus patterns, and known-good re- sponses have already been stored on the system by your system program- mers. A key advantage of Guided Fault Isolation is that all operators can benefit from the knowledge of your most experienced test engineers. Built-in Fault-Tracing Algorithm. Man- ually generating automated test pro- grams would be tedious and time- consuming. Fortunately, the 9100A Series includes many features that simplify the process considerably, reducing devel- opment time from several months to a matter of days or weeks. Ah, I opened my old Fluke spreadsheet called Fluke_9XXX Series Status.xls (on TTL) and it shows TWO different 9010s with GFI, one has model 9010/GF called 9010/9005 GFI FEATURE, and another 9010/GF2 called 9010/9005 GFI2 FEATURE. So it appears there are two versions of the GFI feature for you to figure out. I checked my remaining stock of 9010s to see if any claim that feature...nope, none of my 6 9010As have that option. I scanned and uploaded the Issue 2 change/errata sheet to the ftp site as it didn't seem any version has been scanned before. Thanks. I was aware of this spreadsheet but it doesn't provide any details. I have nine 9010s. I suspect none have the GFI feature but without knowing what I'm looking for ... Tony
