My 9100 came with an Autolearn program that used Step 1, so that's what I've always used. I was never quite sure what whether step 2 meant skipping every other byte or some derivative of the formula as you suggested. -Chris --- Kev <KKlopp@erols.com> wrote:

(Surely step 2 doesn't mean you only read the even locations does it? I'm thinking it might relate to the formula used to derive the checksum?)
