i just got in, with a pile of other items, a three page modification for the old Z80 pod to make it work up to 6Mhz. (Z80B). It appears to be an Eprom change, shielded cable (that may not be required - test) and some ALS parts. A couple of cuts and jumper wires and you are on your way. I'll scan it in to the FTP site in a day or two - if anyone want sit that is... otherwise I'll get around to it someday... John :-#)#
Hi John, Hmm, I have a Z80/AA pod and a Z80 pod and have took them appart to see what the difference is and there appeared to be no difference at all. The Z80 pod was manufactured 1982 (by chip date code), the Z80/AA pod was manufactured 1988 (again, from the chip date codes). That was it. Z80B in both. Same logic families. Same EPROM. Same 1980 PCB. I too expected that the AA was a faster version but I could find no evidence that this was the case or any other difference from the none-AA version at all. Regards, Paul. Minor changes actually, the crystal is bumped up to 6.5Mhz, and a pull up resistor is added, plus one other small change..and they do recommend the shielded cable. I shall scan the sucker in and post in a day or two... John :-#)# At 08:35 AM 17/09/2002 -0700, Paul Swan wrote:
