Micro Concepts Boardwalker 101
Does anyone else have one of these units? I've disassembled the software in order to update the unit to a wider range of devices supported. Looking to see if anyone has any other version of firmware in their unit. Mine has the base software as V2.50, 03/19/87. Library is "STD" V1.6 2/18/87.
Hi Corey, I have one, I just recently got it dead, and it was a 10 minute fix happily. If you ever have a problem where there is no powerup and the AC power is not coming out of the IEC/Fuse/VSelect assembly at the rear, one of the pins to the little PCB sandwich that is the voltage selector is only a right angle solder connection to the rear PCB, and this one had cracked the solder on that pin (the solder is the only mechanical strength in it, others are ok). Anyway, all but one of the labels have fallen off the ROMS in my one, it is base software V2.40, 02/26/87 and the Library ROM I cannot identify, but in the Library Menu it says V1.60 It looks like you can put another library ROM in one of the front sockets, and then in the menus select to use that one instead... Would you mind posting or emailing me your later version ROM images, and locations for which ROM is which as my labels are off? I was about to backup the ROMS in mine today, I'll zip it up and send it later. I'd love to see the disassembly and any other info you have :) Do you have manuals? I have nothing but the unit... I have the Micro Sciences ICT-101 (Dallas, TX) also, an older unit, and to my surprise it is obviously the same company that made the two, although the boards are different, the appearance and layout are very similar. I have the manuals and schematics for the ICT-101 but they're not nearly similar enough in electronic design. thanks, Marc ----- Original Message ----- From: "Corey Stup" <Corey@stup.net> To: <TechToolsList@flippers.com> Sent: Monday, May 20, 2002 2:01 PM Subject: Micro Concepts Boardwalker 101

Okay, I give up what is a Boardwalker (and why do I want one)? I can see that the ICT-101 is a Chip Tester/Identifier so I'm guessing the boardwalker is too? Thanks, Kev
I'm looking for a copy of HP 1631D logic Analyzer manuals & other tidbits for its usage. I'd be willing to scan the manuals & provide them for others. Thanks, Kev
I've had some success with www.manualsplus.com They sell manuals for between $20 and $35US. https://www.manualsplus.com/mpstore/find.asp John :-#)# At 01:04 PM 21/05/2002 -0400, Kev wrote:

Well $90 for the Service manual/Schematics & $40 for a copy of the Op. Anyone beat that? Don't imagine these guys like us PDFing the Fluke stuff? Thanks, Kev

Here's a picture of one, it exercises and tests 74xxx/40xxx etc IC's in circuit on a powered up board (clock stopped, some limitations), and tests the same logic chips and an assortment of static and dynamic RAM's using the ZIF sockets on the front. It also checksums 2732 and 2764's if I remember right. Very handy for testing old RAMs and also tri-state buffer IC's in circuit. I sent & John posted a couple of more PDFs Z80 QT pod manual 9100 System Training Manuals (from the Fluke classroom training) Parts 1 & 2. The training manuals may appear to be missing some pages but that is due to the duplicate graphics that were repeated on the left hand pages. I only scanned the first one. Some sections seem to be void of content to a degree but I'm not sure if I'm missing anything & the content was purely lecture or not? I hope to start posting a few 9100 programs if there is interest. Thanks, Kev
Now watch the price go up on eBay! John :-#)# At 05:08 PM 24/05/2002 +1000, Marc Alexander wrote:

Anyone else have AutoLearn software for their 9100? I've got Version 1.0 & it appears to have a bug/flaw? Thanks, Kev

i am unaware of an autolearn feature on the 9100.. how do you get to it? on another note, my z80 pod has failed on me and i'm looking for a new one, i have tried desperately to fix this one, but i seem to be thwarted each way i turn :| Andy
If you want spare parts, you should buy one of the pods on ebay. Some of the obscure processors go quite cheaply. John :-#)# At 10:25 PM 28/05/2002 +0100, Andy Welburn wrote:

I just got one of these in and it's software is revision 2.0. Finally I can test my 2114s! Library is STD V1.4 Does anyone have the owners manual on this? Care to upload the software to the ftp 'incoming' site? I have created a Boardwalker Directory and will dump my ROMs there. John :-#)# At 12:01 AM 20/05/2002 -0400, Corey Stup wrote:
