Alternative to Aztecmonster for SCSI HD on Fluke 9100A ?
Looking for info about the Aztecmonster SCSI to CF card adapter I found this website with a SCSI2SD adapter. http://shop.codesrc.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=58 Price is lower and this website actually mentions the 9100 to be compatible: http://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=SCSI2SD#Other <http://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=SCSI2SD#Other> So, did anyone here try this one (someone must have reported it was compatible ;) Andy if you read this: I tried downloading the full install package from your website but the link is dead, could you fix that please ? :D Another Fluke 9100A note: A few days ago some other videos about it were put on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqmWddqsETI <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqmWddqsETI> It’s several parts, but regretfully in Spanish, but it is still clear to see what is going on. ( I tried Youtube’s built in subtitler with translation which was of little use, but it did make me LOL ;) André Huijts andre.huijts@upcmail.nl _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com https://pairlist7.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ttl.arcadetech.org/TTL/Test_Equipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/
That's probably one of the best SCSI adapters out there, it's open source, and the designer is interested in improving compatibility and functionality. My understanding is that it's a bit slower than the AztecMonster, though. That said, I haven't tested it with a Fluke 9100A -- I wish I had a 9100A. :) David Ryskalczyk

Yeah that’s where I found that info (I even mentioned that in my initial mail :) ) but I wonder who has tested it…. Also, it’s nice that it is fully configurable, but I would prefer a plug and play solution above having to fiddle with endless settings….so my question would be: does it run out of the box ? (tried downloading the Mac software, I get a file without extension and my Mac doesn’t know what to do with it….) There also seem two websites who sell it, the one I linked to has this info on the top and points to another webshop: The 3.5" SCSI2SD is now distributed by ITEAD Studio. Purchase at http://imall.iteadstudio.com/scsi2sd.html <http://imall.iteadstudio.com/scsi2sd.html> But the latter webshop doesn’t seem to have any stock…. O well, will be some time before I order anyway…but it’s good to have choices…

It was I who tried that device on my 9100A and it certainly worked just fine and I then let Micheal know. I thought I put a small note on TTL about that test experience...but I must have forgotten! Sorry about that folks! His card worked right out of the box, unlike my AztekMonster which had to go back to be reprogrammed due to a bug in his code (that was in 2013 mind you, I'm sure it is fine now). Hah, who would have guessed, that's simply great to hear John, looks like I'll be getting this one :) I noticed that it can emulate 4 drives, I wonder if the Fluke could make a backup from its "main" drive to one of the "extra's" ? I know I can just as well keep a backup on another computer or so but it's interesting from a technical point of view. I know the 9100 can do backups on tape. Does anyone know if (and how) I could copy an image of my current SCSI HD to the SD (using the adapter). I assume it should be possible to have both the physical drive and the adapter hooked up to a SCSI cable like normal drives but I don't know if the Fluke supports more than one HD drive. An alternative would be to use a SCSI controller and a PC but will the PC support the format the Fluke uses ? I know Andy has a "ready to go" image (although the link is dead now) on his website but I'd still like to have a backup of what is on my Fluke now....no idea if it contains something special or not... Yes Andy has an Aztec working fine so that works "out of the box" too now. Thanks John ! Verstuurd vanaf mijn iPad
