Fluke 900 kit on eBay
Not mine, and if I had more free time I'd probably buy it! https://www.ebay.com/itm/233291515008 Looks like it has stuff worth archiving! I do have a pair off 900s already, one of which worked the last time I tried it. Hopefully someone in the USA will buy it, by the time you add shipping to the UK and customs charges it’s instantly far too much!!!

I have used mine pretty extensively and you have to ensure that that hardware is not early otherwise they are pretty limited in functionality. Even with the newest hardware version, I have never actually gotten mine to identify a fault properly because the process of getting a valid 'performance envelope' on the working IC is challenging and loose. With that however, I will still bid on it as I am still borrowing one to test with. So I don't even own one. I started writing updated windows software (in place of the super clunky DOS stuff from 1993) for it but until I can prove that the Fluke 900 actually works for arcade PCB era stuff, I'm not going to spend any more time on the software dev. LOL. You don't know me very well then :) I might sell for that but I ain't paying it. I had $577.97 entered and was at the confirm bid button with about 10 secs to go, then at 6 secs it jumped to over $600 so I didn't bother further. I figured it would exceed my bid but I'm amazed at $1313. It did include the IB and the seller confirmed to me that it has rev 3 of the HSB but the only thing I don't have is the test pcb/psu and the training cartridge. I had a slight interest in seeing what's on those carts and the associated training manual but I suspect they assume you have the test pcb. tony _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com https://pairlist7.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ttl.arcadetech.org/TTL/Test_Equipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/
If i would of know it has the rev3 , i would of bid 1400 :P hahaha... the "test failed" is the only thing that scared me... if it said test passed, i would of dropped more.. i have access to a large 17x17 book scanner, and would of scanned all the docs, and dumps the carts... but i guess we will never see any of it as none of use got it. Like I said in previous, it will always fail at that point if the IB isn't connected. Best that he didn't try and connect it though as if you plug the two connectors in the wrong way round you can damage the HSB. Classic design brainfart as they're not keyed in any way to prevent incorrect insertion:-( _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com https://pairlist7.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ttl.arcadetech.org/TTL/Test_Equipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/
Here's a pic of my two units. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4f6QpD8ItHyT1lDM0ZiOHVjOTQ https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4f6QpD8ItHyT1lDM0ZiOHVjOTQ This is the only Z-Test unit I've ever seen (they licensed it to Fluke) but alas I don't have the matching Z-Test colored IB, just the standard beige Fluke one. According to the service manual (that Steve Larkins found) there was a 64 pin version also but no clue if it was ever released and info on Z-Test is pretty much non-existent. _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com https://pairlist7.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ttl.arcadetech.org/TTL/Test_Equipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/
I have all those carts already.. there wasn't really much in there that hasnt been archived already, but it certainly was a 'complete' package. If anyone here got it, I would love to understand what the ground connectors on the interface board are because I just have to push fat resistor wire in them and then use a clip lead. I don't even own the Interface board that I have.. so if anyone runs across one (doubtful) keep me in mind! I bought it. I was more after the case as I don't have one (kind of expensive case though! :-) ). If there are manuals or ROM dumps, diskette images that hasn't been scanned or dumped already I will gladly do that. If it turns out to be working then I will gladly sell it as I don't have much use for 2 units. BTW, I will probably sell a 9100A and a 9110FT in the near future as well if anyone is interested.
Jess; if you need anything measured or so just let me know.

Anyone have a friend in Cairo that comes back to the States regularly? ________________________________ From: Techtoolslist <techtoolslist-bounces@flippers.com> on behalf of William Stillwell <ki4swy@gmail.com> Sent: Friday, July 26, 2019 9:54:18 AM To: Technical Tools Mail List <techtoolslist@flippers.com> Subject: Re: [Techtoolslist] Fluke 900 kit on eBay

I have two of these. I don't see the Interface Buffer pictured. Without it you wont be doing any ICT. Without the IB connected it will fail self-test as pictured. Finding an IB is very difficult. I've never seen one for sale in the US in the last 6 years. Every 900 that has shown up for sale has been missing the IB. I found mine in Brazil and had a Brazilian coworker get it for me. Also as Jess mentioned there are different mainboard versions and you really want the latest. If its running the latest firmware you can get it to display hsb version, otherwise it requires opening the case. Also the membrane keyboard sucks and they take forever to boot up. An ABI 4000 us a far more useful device, does ICT, supports 40 pun devices and has a very useful built in test basic. For OCT the BK Precision is my goto device. $0.02 Tony On Sat, Jul 20, 2019, 9:31 AM John Robertson <jrr@flippers.com> wrote:

Looks like it has stuff worth archiving! I do have a pair off 900s already, one of which worked the last time I tried it.
