ABI Boardmaster 4000 chip adaptors
Hi Does anyone have any info / circuits on the 75188 adaptor ( also known as the mc1488 rs232 transceiver) so these can be tested in the ABI boardmaster 4000? There is also a 4116 ram adaptor too so the boardmaster tells me!! Google on this occasion is not my friend as it comes up with nothing out of the whole of the Internet!!! Many thanks Andrew Sent from my iPhone Please excuse any spelling or grammar mistakes as this was sent from my iPhone _______________________________________________ Techtoolslist mailing list Techtoolslist@flippers.com https://pairlist7.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/techtoolslist FTP site is: ftp://ttl.arcadetech.org/TTL/Test_Equipment Archive site: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/techtoolslist/
Hey,The 4116 adaptor is covered here (near the bottom) http://www.ukvac.com/forum/abi-b4k-test-basic_topic339944.html I've tried to gather as much info / files as I could since picking up my boardmaster but I've never come across any adaptor info for the 75188. There doesn't seem to be that many people that own / use the bm4k these days though which doesn't really help. Judging by the serial numbers I've seen I don't think abi sold more than 200-300 units and how many of them have survived... so that probably explains it. I recently got a message from a german repairer / abi4k owner that passed up the long lost masterlink software at some computer fair / flea market as he didn't know what it was at the time and so far hasn't been able to track down the seller. :/ How are things going with the keyboard adaptor? do you think it'll ever get released? Cheers Paul. Ah thanks for that!! I have had a dig around in the box of bits I got with my boardmaster and HAVE discovered I have the 4116 adaptor!! It generates the +12v and -5v well from the 5v supply using a 556 some caps and diodes! But when the boardmaster is set to 75188 there is only 2v at the supply to the adapter, so wondered how the supply's were generated in the 75188 board, when I can get round to it I will have to document the 4116 board as it appears to work fine generating the voltages but don't have any 4116 ran to test it on Andrew Sent from my iPhone Please excuse any spelling or grammar mistakes as this was sent from my iPhone

I have just tried the 4116 adaptor in the ABI chipmaster and it generates the voltages just fine, so they may have removed the schematic from there website so they can sell the overpriced adaptors for themselves I guess!! I will try and stick a pic up later of the adaptor on my website and post a link if anyone is interested in seeing the 4116 adaptor Andrew Sent from my iPhone Please excuse any spelling or grammar mistakes as this was sent from my iPhone

Hmmm, if you actually read it I found the problems myself, but hey ho!! You believe what you want, the intention is to let people have the boards I have spare yes, but there are mods as the fluke diagram was not too clear so mistakes was made on such a complicated board, if you want to reproduce the board yourself from the schematics then feel free, but be careful what you post where as fluke DO actively pursue copyright even after all these years! . The ABI keyboard adapter was designed using someone else's code for another project and respectfully when I spoke to them they did not want there code released so I was not going against there wishes, I do actually have a Abi keyboard so the project went no further and was just for 'educational purposes!' Give me a break please!! Sent from my iPhone Please excuse any spelling or grammar mistakes as this was sent from my iPhone

I've never heard of Fluke actively pursuing their old tech, firmware and manuals are everywhere. Also code of ABI keyboard was freely available at that time. I express myself badly. We are not asking you to release your projects but we want to buy the final products. Anyway, you are telling a lot of lies, it's impossible to have a real conversation with you, you have no arguments.Good luck to you and your plagiarized projects! I have no idea what exactly this refers to but it doesn't seem an accurate description of Andrews project to reproduce the 9100 video card. If I'm wrong I'd welcome being educated. And yes I'm subscribed to that ukvac thread. While I'll admit to being somewhat frustrated at the delay, it's Andrews life to manage as he sees fit and last I checked he was making them available to others at his cost. Hi A couple of people will be getting the fluke video card pcb's soon, this is to make sure they get there ok etc, then the rest that I have already said yes to will be contacted to see if they still want them. If people decide they don't then this will open up any left for those that now know about this project and may want one! Once there all gone that will most likely be the end of it, but if there is enough interest and and the min order can be made to get more pcb's made them I may carry it on, but I can't see loads being wanted as there can't be too many of the 9100's about!! Hope that explains what is going on with the project, I will post similar on UKVAC next week once the 2 people safely get there pcb's first! With regard to my adapter info wanted for the boardmaster 4000 thankyou to the person that said the info used to be on the ABI website!! In fact it IS still there as adapters for the chipmaster and they use the same!!! So I now have all the info needed to build the 75188 adapter!! The schematics are all there to for the 4116 ram adapters, so pcb's could easily be made for that if there is interest for them, not sure there is though!!!??? It's fine, I've got a working keyboard now. I just don't understand why you told me back in April that you'd release it. You finished the project three years ago and wrote a guide how to make it / uploaded videos showing it working, so I don't believe that the original author telling you not to release it is a recent thing. You believe what you want, the intention is to let people have the boards I have spare yes, but there are mods as the fluke diagram was not too clear so mistakes was made on such a complicated board, if you want to reproduce the board yourself from the schematics then feel free, but be careful what you post where as fluke DO actively pursue copyright even after all these years! . The ABI keyboard adapter was designed using someone else's code for another project and respectfully when I spoke to them they did not want there code released so I was not going against there wishes, I do actually have a Abi keyboard so the project went no further and was just for 'educational purposes!' It seems you got it working instead.Listen, if you want to take us the piss, you can also try it but with me you've got the wrong person since I'm not stupid. If you don't want to release your project after all the help you received, you are free to do it but this would reinforce the arguments that you're a dick. So, if you have the balls, tell us clearly what are your intentions about your projects.

You are right but I can't stand this kind of people who takes advantage of work of other, takes all the credit and then disappear. Anyway, no, problem, for me the story is closed since he has no arguments (but only lies) to object. Il 07/08/2016 22:32, John Robertson ha scritto:

I have just tried the 4116 adaptor in the ABI chipmaster and it generates the voltages just fine, so they may have removed the schematic from there website so they can sell the overpriced adaptors for themselves I guess!!
I will try and stick a pic up later of the adaptor on my website and post a link if anyone is interested in seeing the 4116 adaptor

Ah thanks for that!! I have had a dig around in the box of bits I got with my boardmaster and HAVE discovered I have the 4116 adaptor!! It generates the +12v and -5v well from the 5v supply using a 556 some caps and diodes! But when the boardmaster is set to 75188 there is only 2v at the supply to the adapter, so wondered how the supply's were generated in the 75188 board, when I can get round to it I will have to document the 4116 board as it appears to work fine generating the voltages but don't have any 4116 ran to test it on

How are things going with the keyboard adaptor? do you think it'll ever get released? Cheers Paul.

Hi
Does anyone have any info / circuits on the 75188 adaptor ( also known as the mc1488 rs232 transceiver) so these can be tested in the ABI boardmaster 4000? There is also a 4116 ram adaptor too so the boardmaster tells me!!
Google on this occasion is not my friend as it comes up with nothing out of the whole of the Internet!!!
Many thanks Andrew
