RE: [techtoolslist] 6800 -> 6502 fluke pod conversion
I was looking at building a RS-232 port for my collection of 9010A's but haven't had the time...the problem is the hardware based ICs, I haven't found a replacement for the original part that would allow me to push the speed any faster - was thinking 120K would be nice ;-) John :-#)# At 02:00 AM 10/09/2003 -0500, Joe wrote:
Looks like the major difference is PHI 0 and 2.
The 2 are extremely close. All address and data lines are on the same pins. I believe op codes are the same. Definitely worth looking into.

I haven't done it, but it sure looks easy to find out. Your 6800 pod has to have the jumpers though, and not all of them do.
It might be nice to make it switchable...a 2532 and some extra gates and a toggle switch?

I was wondering ...
Since the schematics for the 6502 pod show it can be jumpered to go from 6502 to 6800, has anyone ever converted a dedicated 6800 pod to 6502?
I have a unit that I can try on, just wondering if anyone has actually done this already to save me re-inventing the wheel?
Thanks in advance for any input ....
