So here is just some of the information that I’ve been able to extract from MAME:
http://ggdb.com/tech/game.aspx?g=2009
when you click on a MAME virtual driver, you get more information like this:
http://ggdb.com/tech/VM.aspx?g=2009&set=pacman
I still have to load the read & write memory address ranges, but that does start to get a little tricky just based on how MAME treats it. I do have that data though. The idea being that a lot of the information is there to start “auto-building” memory maps and scripts.
Just wanted to put it out there in case anyone has comments. I was able to match about 75% of the MAME games to my database. If you ignore a lot of the Mahjong games, it’s more like 80% +. And eventually I’ll get stuff organized more by hardware because that is more appropriate for what you would use this information for.

(still a bunch of clean up to do, but in due time.)
