Hi Kev,
Funny you should ask...
I have a few extra eprom emulators.
IIRC, they can do either up to a 256 or a 512 (32K
or 64K).
It depends what ram is installed in it and on a pal
they used to
thwart people buying the smallest (ie. cheapest)
model, then throwing
in a larger ram. It uses 6264/62256
devices.
I installed dallas battery backups in mine, so it's
non-volitile.
These are Grammer Engine, Inc. "ROMulators" and
connect to the PC via serial port.
Been meaning to throw them on ebay, but too lazy to
pull them out.
This may be the motivation I needed to sort through
them.
I've replied publicly in case anyone else is
looking for one.
You, as well as anyone else who might be interested
can respond to me directly at shostak@cinelabs.com .

Subject: Cheap EPROM Emulator tips?
Anyone have a spare EPROM emulator that they'd
consider selling or advice on building/buying one?
Ideally I'd like something that could do 2716 on up to
atleast 27512, work on a DOS based 386 (parallel port may even be better than
serial but either).
I'm thinking it would be a handy tool for
deriving the Fluke checksums.
Thanks,
Kev
