Who has experience with desoldering / rework tools?

I do all of my work with a hand vacum pump now.

I've heard good things about the PACE SX80 system.

Ideally I'm interested in a self contained unit versus shop air (I've got shop air but it isn't convienent).

Which is quieter?

I can see my needs expanding, needing tweezers, hot air etc. What platform is best for expansion?

JROK posted about a paste for rework, but that is apparently expensive.
