I believe the only differences between the cables is the shielded VS none shielded cables. If you go to Digi-Key.com and dig through their cables you should be able to either find or construct the simpler non-shielded one.

Another solution I have seen is to carefully break out the offending pins wire, then solder that wire into a 40 pin IC socket and place that on the end of the pod 40 pin CPU plug. This works very well.

I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND that at ALL times the pod's CPU plug is inserted into an IC socket to protect the pins, simply insert the (now doubled up) plug into the UUT CPU socket. This will prevent the pod pins from being bent/broken.

Do not use machined pin sockets, the double sided wipe style seem to work best.

Also, for the probe, use a 'scope tip shield to prevent bending or breaking it's tip. This is the conical plastic included in the bag of goodies that most of us have kicking around by the time one has bought several scope probes.

Anyone got a scrap z80 pod that still has the pod to UUT lead with all 40 pins?  Mine has a couple of pins missing so I'm on the lookout for a lead, or even a complete dead z80 pod with good lead.

I've noticed that other pods have different part numbers on these leads, does anyone know what is inside the plug, perhaps something for power sensing?

Cash / paypal waiting, thanks,

Steve
