John,

You're looking at the wrong end.  I'm interested in the 40 pin DIP recepticle end (that mates with the UUT end of a pod).

Thanks,
Kev

Ah, there it is in the Fluke/PDFs directory: 8051Pod-40pinclip.PDF. that is a test clip, sometimes referred to as a GLOMPER clip. I have a bunch of them at the shop (no spare 40 pins) and they are available - somewhere. There are two styles, one that has smooth pins that you can slide the ribbon cable connector onto, and others that have a bump on the top to keep test leads from sliding off.

I think they were made by CGI or someone like that...

While researching this I noticed that Google Groups now goes back to (at least) 1984!

Wow!

I think the PDF was renamed since it was for a 8051 or something?  It is on the FTP I belive.

A while ago you asked about this, is it a socket you need or the 40 pin dip header? I've not seen a socket either...but I guess you could always solder a socket to a header.

Where is the pdf file located?

Can anyone source the part that crimps to the ribbon cable & provides a 40 pin dip socket?  I could use some of those!

Didn't see it in DigiKey, Mouser or Allied.

(40pincclip.pdf has a sketch of the part)

I think you could make something from Digikey's cables and clips. I have a CPU clip I have experimented with (on a CAT Box), but not on the System 80 MPUs with a 6502 Fluke pod. I don't know why, just never did...however you do need to lift the two jumpers to disable the CPU (that's what I did with the CAT Box - oh, I still have one CB for sale if anyone is interested)...it might work, should not harm the CPU...perhaps the next MPU I pull out I'll test this on and let you folks know the results, later this week...

Are the clip adapters for the 9000 series pods still around? If I remember correctly, Gottlieb soldered in the CPUs in the sys80 CPU boards. I'm going to start working on some in the next few weeks. Just wondering how hard they are to find and if people have used them with any success. I suppose I could desolder the CPU, but if it's working, I'd rather not.
